Physical activity has been demonstrated to improve cognitive function, thereby preventing/slowing neurodegenerative diseases (NDs). Biological responses to physical activity and vulnerabilities to NDs are emerging to be gender-related. Herein, known ND-associated markers (β-amyloid, tau, α-synuclein), main sex steroid hormones, antioxidant responses, and key gene transcription modulators were evaluated in the blood of physically active and sedentary women and men.

Background: Hepatitis B immunoglobulin (HBIG) in combination with a potent nucleos(t)ide analog is considered the standard of care for prophylaxis against hepatitis B virus (HBV) reinfection after liver transplantation for HBV-associated disease.
Aim: To evaluate patients' satisfaction, preferences, and requirements for subcutaneous (SC), intramuscular (IM), and intravenous (IV) HBIG treatments.
Methods: A self-completion, cross-sectional, online, 22-question survey was conducted to examine perceptions and satisfaction with current HBIG treatment in adults receiving HBIG treatment following liver transplantation for HBV-associated disease in France, Italy, and Turkey.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains the leading oncological indication for liver transplantation (LT), with evolving and broadened inclusion criteria. Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) gained a central role in systemic HCC treatment and showed potential in the peri-transplant setting as downstaging/bridging therapy before LT or as a treatment for HCC recurrence following LT. However, the antagonistic mechanisms of action between ICIs and immunosuppressive drugs pose significant challenges, particularly regarding the risk of acute rejection (AR).
