A simple, one-step electrodeposition approach has been used to fabricate MnO on an indium-doped tin oxide substrate for highly sensitive As detection. We report an experimental limit of detection of 1 ppb through anodic stripping voltammetry with selectivity to As in the presence of 10 times higher concentrations of several metal ions. Additionally, we report the simultaneous phase evolution of active material occurring through multiple stripping cycles, wherein MnO/MnO eventually converts to MnO as a result of change in the oxidation states of manganese. This occurs with concomitant changes in morphology. Change in the electronic property (increased charge transfer resistance) of the material due to sensing results in an eventual decrease in sensitivity after multiple stripping cycles. In a nutshell, this paper reports stripping-voltammetry-induced change in morphology and phase of as-prepared Mn-based electrodes during As sensing.

This study proposes a novel, highly sensitive neutron detector design utilizing a unique multi-layered configuration. Each layer consists of a LiF: ZnS(Ag) scintillator coupled with a transparent neutron moderator that also functions as a light guide for the Silicon Photomultiplier (SiPM) light sensor. This design offers a cost-effective and readily available alternative for existing neutron detectors.

This paper presents a slot antenna integrated with a split ring resonator (SRR) and feed line, designed to achieve a high Q-factor while maximizing channel capacity utilization. By incorporating a lens into the dielectric resonator antenna (DRA), we enhance both bandwidth and directivity, with the dielectric material's permittivity serving as a key control parameter for radiation characteristics. We explore water and ethanol as controllable dielectrics within the terahertz (THz) frequency range (0.

We report the development and performance of a novel genomics platform, TempO-LINC, for conducting high-throughput transcriptomic analysis on single cells and nuclei. TempO-LINC works by adding cell-identifying molecular barcodes onto highly selective and high-sensitivity gene expression probes within fixed cells, without having to first generate cDNA. Using an instrument-free combinatorial indexing approach, all probes within the same fixed cell receive an identical barcode, enabling the reconstruction of single-cell gene expression profiles across as few as several hundred cells and up to 100,000 + cells per sample.

The cyclic GMP-AMP synthase-stimulator of the interferon gene (cGAS-STING) signaling pathway is considered an essential pattern recognition and effector pathway in the natural immune system and is mainly responsible for recognizing DNA molecules present in the cytoplasm and activating downstream signaling pathways to generate type I interferons (IFN-I) and other inflammatory factors. STING, a crucial junction protein in the innate immune system, exerts an essential role in host resistance to external pathogen invasion. The DNA introduced by pathogens or tumors is recognized by the cytoplasmic nucleic acid receptor cGAS, and a second messenger, cGAMP, is generated using intracellular guanosine triphosphate (GTP) and adenosine triphosphate (ATP).

Diagnosing neurosyphilis in clinical settings poses significant challenges due to the absence of highly efficient diagnostic criteria. Our objective was to enhance the existing diagnostic criteria and assess their sensitivity and specificity for identifying neurosyphilis in HIV-negative patients. We conducted a retrospective review of patient records from a cross-sectional study carried out between December 2019 and May 2023.
