A 57-year-old man presented with fever and lower left abdominal pain. The CT-scan showed thickening of the gallbladder wall with a fistula to the transverse colon, a laminated calcification in the descending colon and distended bowel loops. Lymphangiomas are localized multi-cystic malformations of the lymphatic and vascular system, primarily affecting the head and neck regions in children. Orbital lymphangiomas are not considered hamartomas because the orbit does not commonly display lymphatic vessels. In this case report, we describe a male patient who was 15 years old and presented to our medical facility with the primary complaints of having a bulging left eye, sudden chemosis of the lower conjunctiva, and pain in the left eye.

Calciphylaxis is a rare and serious disorder almost exclusively seen in patients on dialysis or those with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) not on dialysis and is associated with very high mortality. We present the case of a 50-year-old male with a background of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) compliant with dialysis, parathyroid adenoma, secondary hyperparathyroidism, and high body mass index (BMI). Whilst receiving 31 doses of intravenous sodium thiosulphate (STS) over an 11-week period, the patient underwent surgical debridement of multiple painful ulcerative lesions in his lower abdomen and left thigh and then subsequently a subtotal parathyroidectomy at 70 days from admission.

Background: Intravenous lipid emulsions are an essential component of nutritional support for very preterm infants. Many neonatal intensive care units have transitioned from traditional soybean oil-only to fish oil-containing multicomponent lipid emulsions, but the neurodevelopmental implications have not been well-explored. The primary aim of this study was to assess extrauterine third trimester brain growth in very preterm infants supported with soybean oil-only compared to fish-oil containing multicomponent lipid emulsions; white matter development and neurobehavioral regulation at term were also investigated.
