We demonstrate the direct generation of visible vortex beams at 640 nm and 607 nm by employing an off-axis pumping scheme in a diode end-pumped Pr:YLF laser. A detailed numerical analysis, based on the coherent superposition of Hermite-Gaussian modes with different amplitudes and phases, is perfectly consistent with the experimentally observed lasing modes. The maximum vortex output powers have been measured to be 808 mW and 211 mW at a pump power of 3.16 W, for the wavelengths of 640 nm and 607 nm, respectively. We also demonstrate the handedness control of the generated vortex beam. Such a visible vortex laser can potentially be applied in super-resolution fluorescent microscopes and micro-fabrication research.

As one of the provinces with the largest number of national forest cities, all prefecture-level cities in Guangdong Province have joined the campaigns of building forest cities. Mastering the spatial and temporal variations of ecological environment quality (EEQ) in Guangdong Province is conducive to the benign interaction and coordinated development of urban construction and ecosystem. We used the water benefit-based ecological index (WBEI) to achieve rapid monitoring of EEQ in Guangdong Province, utilized the standard deviation ellipse and gravity center migration, Theil-Sen Median trend method and Mann-Kendall test to explore the spatial distribution disparities and trends, and analyzed the coupling coordination between EEQ and urbanization.

Background: Traditional DNA microinjection methods used in mammals are difficult to apply to avian species due to their unique reproductive characteristics. Genetic manipulation in chickens, particularly involving immature follicles within living ovaries, has not been extensively explored. This study seeks to establish an efficient method for generating transgenic chickens through ovarian injection, potentially bypassing the challenges associated with primordial germ cell (PGC) manipulation and fertilized egg microinjection.

The ability to accurately predict the yields of different crop genotypes in response to weather variability is crucial for developing climate resilient crop cultivars. Genotype-environment interactions introduce large variations in crop-climate responses, and are hard to factor in to breeding programs. Data-driven approaches, particularly those based on machine learning, can help guide breeding efforts by factoring in genotype-environment interactions when making yield predictions.

Childhood behavioral problems are common; despite evidence that parenting interventions improve outcomes, the use of these programs is limited. Virtual delivery may ameliorate attendance barriers, but little is known on the acceptability and feasibility of virtual group parenting interventions. This mixed-methods study explored the feasibility, acceptability, and appropriateness of the virtual delivery of a parenting intervention, Child Adult Relationship Enhancement in Primary Care (PriCARE) among 18 caregivers and 8 facilitators.

With this short communication, which contains a new case report on diabetic ulcer, we summarize our research progress in treating several complex conditions at a point where currently available treatments were failing to help the affected patients. We review the first case of lower back pain due to severe spondylitis (T12-L1) treated with intravenous injections of a sterile fraction of human purified amniotic fluid (ViX001) obtained from thoroughly screened volunteers at the time of planned c-section at the term of normal pregnancies. Then, we review the first case of recalcitrant diabetic ulcer treated successfully by twice-daily applications of ViX001 directly on the wound and describe another case of diabetic ulcer treated successfully with ViX001.
