The anti-colorectal cancer monoclonal antibody CO17-1A (mAb CO), which recognizes the tumor-associated antigen EpCAM, was expressed in transgenic Arabidopsis plants. PCR and western blot analyses showed the insertion and expression of heavy chain (HC)/HC fused to the KDEL ER retention modif (HCK) and light chain (LC) of mAb CO and mAb CO with HCK (mAb COK) in Arabidopsis transformants. Both plantderived mAbP CO and mAbP COK were purified from a biomass of approximately 1,000 seedlings grown in a greenhouse. In sandwich ELISA, both mAbP CO showed a slightly higher binding affinity for the target, EpCAM, compared to mAbM CO. In cell ELISA, both mAbsP COs showed binding affinity to the human colorectal cancer cell line SW480. Furthermore, mAbM CO, mAbP CO, and mAbP COK exhibited dose and timedependent regression effects on SW480 cells in vitro. In summation, both mAbP CO and mAbP COK, expressed in Arabidopsis, recognized the target antigen EpCAM and showed anti-proliferative activity against human colorectal cancer cells. Background: The current standard of care for mild acute biliary pancreatitis (MABP) involves early laparoscopic cholecystectomy (ELC) to reduce the risk of recurrence. The MANCTRA-1 project revealed a knowledge-to-action gap and higher recurrence rates in patients admitted to medical wards, attributable to fewer ELCs being performed. The project estimated a 35% to 70% probability of narrowing this gap by 2025.

Chronic intermittent hypoxia (CIH), the main feature of obstructive sleep apnea, heightened chemosensory discharges of the carotid body (CB), which contributes to potentiate the ventilatory hypoxic response and elicits hypertension. We aimed to determine: 1) whether the persistence of cardiorespiratory alterations found in long-term CIH depend on the inputs from the CB and, 2) in what extension the activation of glial cells and neuroinflammation in the caudal region of the nucleus of the Solitary Tract (NTS) requires functional CB chemosensory activity. To evaluate these hypotheses, we exposed male mice to CIH for 60 days.

Unlabelled: Background A limited number of studies have investigated the effects of lifestyle interventions in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). This study evaluated the effect of a novel lifestyle intervention incorporating physical activity (PA) and dietary nitrate supplementation on heart rate variability (HRV) and haemodynamic measures in HCM.
Methods: Twenty-eight individuals with HCM were randomised into either the intervention or control group.
