Objective: To analyze the association of occupational disinfectants use with asthma and wheezing in young professionals.
Methods: Three hundred sixty-five participants from the German Study on Occupational Allergy Risks II aged 20 to 24 years and working in cleaning or health services answered a questionnaire on respiratory health, occupational exposure to disinfectants, and potential confounders. By logistic regression, we calculated the association between duration of occupational disinfectants exposure and doctor-diagnosed asthma, current asthma, and current wheezing.
Results: Individuals exposed to disinfectants for more than 12 months had almost three times the odds of doctor-diagnosed asthma compared with those not exposed (odds ratio [OR]: 2.99, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.36-6.55).
Conclusions: Our findings provide some further evidence for an association between occupational exposure to disinfectants and asthma, indicating that this association can be seen already after the first year of exposure.

Background: Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is the connective tissue disease with the highest individual mortality. Crystalline silica is known to be an occupational risk factor for SSc. To assess past crystalline silica exposure, we aimed to study the validity of a job exposure matrix (JEM) to assess occupational exposure to crystalline silica compared to specific occupational interviews in two populations of SSc patients.

Objectives: The 2022 European Society of Cardiology and European Respiratory Society (ESC/ERS) Guidelines for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) recommend risk stratification to optimize management. However, the performance of generic PAH risk stratification tools in patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc)-associated PAH remains unclear. Our objective was to identify the most accurate approach for risk stratification at SSc-PAH diagnosis.

Background: Since the COVID-19 pandemic, health care workers (HCWs) faced an enormous physical and mental burden, sometimes altering their quality of life due mainly to persistent challenges stemming from their frontline position.
Aims: Todetermine the prevalence of post-COVID-19 syndrome, and its impact on the Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) among HCWs.
Methods: This is an exhaustive cross-sectional study with analytical scope, conducted among all HCWs of the University Hospital Sahloul of Sousse, Tunisia, who have contracted COVID-19 between September 2020 and 30 March 2021 (N=529 cases).
