Meigs' syndrome is a rare condition characterized by the presence of a benign fibroma of the ovary, ascites and pleural effusion. It very uncommon and diagnosis is made difficult by symptoms that usually mimic disseminated malignancy. The gold standard treatment is laparotomy and, by definition of the syndrome, after tumor removal, the symptoms resolves and the patients become asymptomatic. We presented a giant ovarian fibroma with associated Meigs syndrome, successfully managed in a low resources setting.

The anatomical, histological, and histochemical characteristics of the foregut (FG), midgut (MG), and hindgut (HG), as well as their alterations during the ovarian cycle in female prawns, Macrobrachium rosenbergii, were investigated. The esophagus (ESO), cardia (CD), and pylorus (PY) are the main components of the FG. An epithelium (Ep) with thick cuticle (Cu) layers lining the ESO, and the ESO is encircled by the ESO glands.

Giant ovarian cysts (GOCs) have become less common in developed countries due to routine health screenings, but they remain prevalent in economically underdeveloped regions. Treatment options for GOCs depend on factors such as age, cyst characteristics, and pregnancy status. Minimally invasive single-port laparoscopic surgery has largely replaced traditional open surgery due to its aesthetic advantages and effectiveness.

Although mature ovarian teratoma (MOT) is one of the most commonly detected benign tumours worldwide, its malignant transformation is rare. This article presents a case of a 47-year-old woman, operated on for emergency reasons due to a giant painful ovarian tumour, showing preoperatively no signs of malignancy. Surprisingly, a pathological report showed MOT coexisting with an early-stage ovarian adenocarcinoma developing as an endophytic papilloma.

For commercial laying hens, the continuous high-intensity ovulation process leads to a significant accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the granulosa cells, inducing oxidative stress, which accelerates ovarian aging and shortens the peak laying period. The molecular mechanisms underlying this process remain poorly understood. Therefore, we modeled the processes of oxidative stress and antioxidant in chicken granulosa cells.
