Goose astrovirus (GoAstV) has emerged as a significant pathogen affecting the goose industry in China, with GoAstV-2 becoming the dominant genotype since 2017. This study explores the genetic and structural factors underlying the prevalence of GoAstV-2, focusing on codon usage bias, spike protein variability, and structural stability. Phylogenetic and effective population size analyses revealed that GoAstV-2 experienced rapid expansion between 2017 and 2018, followed by population stabilization.

This study describes a new species of Polyxenida from China, , along with a species newly recorded from China: (Miyosi, 1947), and provides additional descriptions of Ishii & Liang, 1990 and Ishii & Liang, 1990. The study conducted mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) sequencing for all four species and constructed a phylogenetic tree based on the molecular data. The comprehensive morphological descriptions and molecular analyses confirm the addition of one new species and one newly recorded species for the Polyxenida fauna of China, elevating the total number of known Polyxenida species in the country from 10 to 12.

Bedford, 1931 is the sole extant tick species that belongs to the genus and family and Nuttalliellidae respectively. With the characteristics that are respectively distinctive to hard and soft ticks, it is regarded as the species closest to the ancestral lineage of ticks as well as the missing link between the Argasidae and Ixodidae families. In this review, literature search of the articles reporting on was done in Google Scholar and PubMed databases.

During the fungal investigations of hosts in China, ten isolates of were obtained from dead and dying branches. Morphological characteristics and phylogenetic analyses of combined ITS, LSU, and loci revealed the presence of two new species, and , as well as two new host records for and from . In this study, we provide descriptions and illustrations of these species, thereby enriching the diversity within the taxa.
