Introduction: Black emerging adults (18-28 years) have the highest risk of short sleep duration and obesity. This increased risk may be partly explained by greater stress levels, which may result from race-related stress (racial discrimination and heightened race-related vigilance) or living in more disadvantaged home and neighbourhood environments. Insufficient sleep may also impact obesity risk via several weight-related mechanisms including energy balance, appetite and food reward, cortisol profiles and hydration status.

Introduction: Limitations in physical functioning are common in patients with late-stage chronic kidney disease (CKD) and can greatly affect their lives. Using patient interviews, this study reports experiences associated with physical functioning limitations for patients with late-stage CKD.
Methods: A preliminary conceptual model on concepts relevant to physical functioning limitations in patients with CKD was developed using data from a targeted literature review (patients with CKD stages IV-V) and previous interviews (patients with CKD stages IIIa-IIIb).

Purpose: Fatigue is a common and debilitating problem in patients recovering from critical illness. To address a lack of evidence-based interventions for people with fatigue after critical illness, we co-produced a self-management intervention based on self-regulation theory. This article reports the development and initial user testing of the co-produced intervention.
