Geopolymer concrete is a sustainable construction material and is considered as a promising alternative to traditional Portland cement concrete. However, there is still not much research on the effective properties and damage behavior of geopolymer concrete with consideration of its heterogeneous characteristics by means of mesoscale models combined with the regularized microplane damage model. Here, in this research, an easy and simpler approach for generating concrete mesoscale models and characterizing the angular characteristics of aggregate particles is presented.

In this study, a probabilistic model within the dislotwin constitutive framework of DAMASK (the Düsseldorf Advanced Material Simulation Kit) was established to describe the cyclic loading behaviors of AZ31B magnesium alloys. Considering the detwinning procedure within the twinned region, this newly developed dislocation-twinning-detwinning model was employed to accurately simulate stress-strain behaviors of AZ31B magnesium alloys throughout tension-compression-tension (T-C-T) cycle loading. The investigations revealed that the reduction in yield stress during the reverse loading process was attributed to the active operation of twinning and detwinning modes.

Observation-based verification of regional/national methane (CH) emission trends is crucial for transparent monitoring and mitigation strategy planning. Although surface observations track the global and sub-hemispheric emission trends well, their sparse spatial coverage limits our ability to assess regional trends. Dense satellite observations complement surface observations, offering a valuable means to validate emission trends, especially in regions where emissions changes are substantial but debated.

Nickel-rich NCM cathode materials promise lithium-ion batteries with a high energy density. However, an increased Ni fraction in the cathode leads to complex phase transformations with electrode-electrolyte side reactions, which cause rapid capacity fading. Here, we show that an initial formation cycle at 0.

Rationale: Carbonate minerals are one of the most popular samples for an automated sample preparation system for CF-IRMS, such as GasBench II and iso FLOW, but no standardized analytical protocols exist. This study gives guidelines on optimal analytic conditions for carbon and oxygen isotope analysis of Ca-Mg carbonates when using the carbonate-phosphoric acid reaction method.
Methods: Calcite (CaCO-McMaster Carrara), dolomite (CaMg(CO)-MRSI Dolomite), and magnesite (MgCO-ROM Brazil Magnesite) with two grain size fractions (< 74 and 149-250 μm) were reacted with 103% (specific gravity of 1.
