In order to enhance the ignition ability and reliability of traditional electronic initiators, a novel electronic initiator has been designed to integrate with a nanothermite multilayer film and an electrode plug. The Al/CuO nanothermite multilayer film with different thickness is deposited on the surface of the electrode plug by magnetron sputtering which uses Pt-W wire as electronic resistance. The exothermicity of Al/CuO nanothermite multilayer film is so favourable that the ignition ability of electronic initiator is significantly improved. The full firing-voltage sensitivity of the electronic initiator is 10.8 V. The thickness of Al/CuO multilayer film has negligible effects on the ignition time and ignition energy, but leads to great impacts on the function time, the maximum length of combustion flame and ignition ability. The electrical ignition experiments have exhibited outstanding ignition ability, since the electronic initiator can easily fire the insensitive ignition composition of boron-potassium nitrate (B-KNO) tablet in a gap of 20.35 mm. It proves that this novel proposal of remoulding the traditional electronic ignition devices will distinctly improve the ignition ability and reliability of electronic initiator.

The emergence of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) A H5N1 virus in dairy cattle marks a troubling new chapter in the ongoing battle against zoonotic diseases. Since its initial detection in 1955, the H5N1 virus has primarily been associated with poultry, posing significant threats to both animal and human health. However, recent outbreaks in U.

Worldwide, populations face issues related to water and energy consumption. Water scarcity has intensified globally, particularly in arid and semiarid regions. Projections indicate that by 2030, global water demand will rise by 50%, leading to critical shortages, further intensified by the impacts of climate change.

Laser-driven MeV x-ray radiography of dynamic, dense objects demands a small, high flux source of energetic x-rays to generate an image with sufficient quality. Understanding the multi-MeV x-ray spectrum underscores the ability to extrapolate from the current laser sources to new future lasers that might deploy this radiography modality. Here, we present a small study of the existing x-ray diagnostics and techniques.

Laser ignition of primary explosives presents more reliable alternative to traditional electrical initiation methods. However, the commercial initiator lead azide (LA) requires a high-power density laser to detonate, with the minimum laser initiation energy (E) of 2402 mJ. Currently, the laser-ignitable metal complex-based igniters still suffer from weak detonation capabilities and high E values.
