Brucellosis has always been a threat to the health and economics of societies. We report a new colorimetric immunoassay based on colored silica nanoparticles for detection of . An immunosensor was designed based on blue-SiNPs and paramagnetic nanoparticles (PMNPs). The synthesized immunosensor was conjugated with a polyclonal antibody against , which was activated by 1-Ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-carbodiimide (EDC) and N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) to form detection and capture probes, respectively. After adding the conjugates to the bacterial suspension, sandwich structure of PMNPs -blue-SiNPs was formed and then separated by a magnet. The blue dye was released from the silica structure and its absorbance was measured at 670 nm with a spectrophotometer. Under optimal conditions, results showed a wide dynamic range from 1.5 × 10 to 1.5 × 10 cfu mL with a detection limit of 450 cfu mL. The specificity of the sensor was confirmed in comparison with 5 other bacteria. Also, during the 120-days period, the complex was stable. The results suggested that it can be used in real samples ( = .9865). This designed colorimetric immunoassay strategy can be used as an alternative, user-friendly and on-site tool for the rapid detection of spp. compared to other common methods with high sensitivity and specificity in a short time.

The juice processing industry offers several benefits, including promoting health and wellness through the delivery of beverages rich in nutrients. Nonetheless, the industry encounters significant challenges regarding new technologies for processing and preservation given that they can be costly and labor-intensive. In this study, magnetic Janus silica (SiO) nanoparticle which offers multifunctionality and high stability was synthesized and subsequently immobilized with a protease mutant T70I (T70I@MSNs) to serve as a clarifying agent in juice.

With the exponential growth of global photovoltaic (PV) installed capacity, the quantity of discarded PV modules continues to rise. This study innovatively explored the sustainable recovery and utilization of raw materials from discarded solar panels, focusing on the transformation of recycled silicon into microporous silica nanoparticles (MSN). Low toxic organic solvent ethyl acetate (EA) was for the first time utilized to reduce the viscosity of ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) and facilitated its removal.

The anti-tumor efficacy of current pharmacotherapy is severely hampered due to the adaptive evolution of tumors, urgently needing effective therapeutic strategies capable of breaking such adaptability. Metabolic reprogramming, as an adaptive survival mechanism, is closely related to therapy resistance of tumors. Colorectal cancer (CRC) cells exhibit a high energy dependency that is sustained by an adaptive metabolic conversion between glucose and glutamine, helping tumor cells to withstand nutrient-deficient microenvironments and various treatments.

The use of nanoparticles is a promising ecofriendly strategy for mitigating both abiotic and biotic stresses. However, the physiological and defense response mechanisms of plants exposed to multiple stresses remain largely unexplored. Herein, we examined how foliar application of biogenic nanosilica (BNS) impacts rice plant growth, molecular defenses, and metabolic responses when subjected to arsenic (As) toxicity and infested by the insect .
