Hematology patients require central venous catheters for cancer treatment and nutrition, which increases their risk of intravascular device-associated bacteremia. In the absence of recent data, we investigated intravascular device-associated bacteremia in this specific context. A three-month surveillance was conducted annually in 27 hematology wards, using a protocol derived from the HAI-Net ICU ECDC protocol (2020-2024).

Background: The harm-benefit balance for early out-of-bed mobilisation of patients with severe acquired brain injury (ABI) in neurointensive care units (neuro-ICUs) is unclear, and there are no clinical guidelines. This study aimed to survey the current clinical practice and perceptions among clinicians involved in first out-of-bed mobilisation in Scandinavian neuro-ICUs.
Methods: This was a cross-sectional, anonymous, web-based survey; the reporting follows the recommended CROSS checklist.

Background: Although many transmasculine individuals undergo 1 or more gynecological surgeries (ie, hysterectomy, oophorectomy, tubectomy, or colpectomy), little has been published about motivation, subjective experiences, and the effect on dysphoria and quality of life.
Aim: The aim of this study was to acquire an in-depth understanding of patients' motivations and experienced outcomes of gynecological gender surgery.
Methods: In this qualitative study, in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted.

Background: Glymphatic clearance dysfunction within the perivascular space has been implicated in Alzheimer's Disease (AD) pathology. Diffusion MRI-based techniques such as DTI-ALPS can quantify perivascular interstitial fluid (ISF) dynamics, yet their links with other early AD markers in the cognitively normal elderly population remain underexplored. Here, we investigated associations between DTI-ALPS and cerebral β-amyloid (Aβ) burden measured with Pittsburgh Compound B (PiB)-PET.

Background: Brain aging (BA) involves the gradual deterioration of brain systems and is associated with chronological age (CA). Measures of BA have been validated and adopted in aging and neurological disease research (Biondo, 2022; Eickhoff, 2021) and could be a useful clinical tool. BA predicts CA in healthy adults (Cole, 2017) and accelerated BA precede Alzheimer's disease (AD) symptoms (Elliott, 2021).
