Glucocorticoids (GCs) are standard-of-care treatments for inflammatory and immune disorders, and their long-term use increases the risk of osteoporosis. Although GCs decrease bone functionality, their role in bone microvasculature is incompletely understood. Herein, the study investigates the mechanisms of bone microvascular barrier function via osteoblast-endothelial interactions in response to GCs.

Known for its remarkable diversity and ecological importance, the fungal kingdom remains largely unexplored. In fact, the number of unknown and undescribed fungi is predicted to exceed the number of known fungal species by far. Despite efforts to uncover these dark fungal taxa, we still face inherent sampling biases and methodological limitations.

Background: Alopecia areata (AA) is a common autoimmune disease, causes sudden hair loss on the scalp, face, and sometimes other areas of the body. Previous studies have suggested more severe manifestations and higher recurrence rates in children than in adults. Moreover, pediatric AA patients with atopic predisposition often exhibit elevated IgE levels, early onset, and a poor prognosis.

For over a century, we have appreciated that the biochemical processes through which micro- and macronutrients are anabolized and catabolized-collectively referred to as "cellular metabolism"-are reprogrammed in malignancies. Cancer cells in lung tumors rewire pathways of nutrient acquisition and metabolism to meet the bioenergetic demands for unchecked proliferation. Advances in precision medicine have ushered in routine genotyping of patient lung tumors, enabling a deeper understanding of the contribution of altered metabolism to tumor biology and patient outcomes.

In applications ranging from photon-energy conversion into electrical or chemical forms (such as photovoltaics or photocatalysis) to numerous sensor technologies based on organic solids, the role of supramolecular structures and chromophore interactions is crucial. This review comprehensively examines the critical intermolecular interactions between organic dyes and their impact on optical properties. We explore the range of changes in absorption or emission properties observed in molecular aggregates compared to single molecules.
