Introduction: Myelofibrosis (MF) is often characterized by a multifactorial anemia determined, in part, by bone marrow (BM) fibrosis, extramedullary erythropoiesis and splenomegaly. Ruxolitinib (RUX) is the first-in-class janus kinase 2 (JAK2) inhibitor approved for treatment of MF, proved to reduce spleen volume and decrease symptom burden. The red cell distribution width (RDW) is the measure of erythrocyte volume variability (anisocytosis).

The present study describes a case of B-SLL in a free-ranging adult male Arctocephalus australis in Brazil.

Background: Worldwide, iron deficiency anemia is the most prevalent nutritional deficiency disorder and the leading cause of anemia in children, especially in developing countries. When present in early childhood, especially if severe and prolonged, iron deficiency anemia can result in neurodevelopmental and cognitive deficits, which may not always be fully reversible even following the correction of iron deficiency anemia.
Objective: This article aimed to familiarize physicians with the clinical manifestations, diagnosis, evaluation, prevention, and management of children with iron deficiency anemia.

Introduction: Secondary thrombocytosis, also known as reactive thrombocytosis, is defined as an abnormal increase in platelet count as a result of another underlying medical or surgical condition. Once the medical cause of reactive thrombocytosis was determined, it could be treated. In this case, supportive treatment with no iron supplements for anemia and infection improved the case condition rapidly.
