Supramolecular modulation of reduction potentials of two series of bis(pyridinium)alkane salts is described. Study of the encapsulation of bis(pyridinium)alkane guests within the CB[7] cavity revealed the critical influence of the linker length and the position of the heteroatom on the reduction potentials of encapsulated guests. CB[7] complexation of pyridinium salts induced reduction potential changes ranging between +50 and -430 mV. Noncovalent modulation of the electron-accepting ability of organic cations can be utilized in electron-transfer-initiated reactions.

Introduction/aims: Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is caused by pathogenic variants in the DMD gene, making muscle fibers susceptible to contraction-induced membrane damage. Given the potential beneficial action of cannabidiol (CBD), we evaluated the in vitro effect of full-spectrum CBD oil on the viability of dystrophic muscle fibers and the in vivo effect on myopathy of the mdx mouse, a DMD model.

Methods: In vitro, dystrophic cells from the mdx mouse were treated with full-spectrum CBD oil and assessed with cell viability and cytotoxic analyses.

Introduction: Micrococcus luteus is a commensal bacterial member of the human skin and is essential in keeping the balance among the various microbial flora of the skin. M. luteus strain Q24 or BLIS Q24™ was isolated from the skin of a healthy human adult and is known to produce a unique antimicrobial spectrum that is inhibitory towards pathogens associated with skin diseases.

Background: The study aimed to investigate the reduction of hematoma risk during MRI-guided breast biopsies by evaluating position-dependent intervention parameters and characteristics of the target lesion.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 252 percutaneous MRI-guided breast biopsies performed at a single center between January 2013 and December 2023. Two groups were built depending on the severity of relative hematoma formation (using a cut-off ≤ 7.
