Dehydrogenative aromatization is one of the attractive alternative methods for directly synthesizing primary anilines from NH and cyclohexanones. However, the selective synthesis of primary anilines is quite difficult because the desired primary aniline products and the cyclohexanone substrates readily undergo condensation affording the corresponding imines (i.e., N-cyclohexylidene-anilines), followed by hydrogenation to produce N-cyclohexylanilines as the major products. In this study, primary anilines were selectively synthesized in the presence of supported Pd nanoparticle catalysts (e.g., Pd/HAP, HAP=hydroxyapatite, Ca (PO ) (OH) ) by utilizing competitive adsorption unique to heterogeneous catalysis; in other words, when styrene was used as a hydrogen acceptor, which preferentially adsorbs on the Pd nanoparticle surface in the presence of N-cyclohexylidene-anilines, various structurally diverse primary anilines were selectively synthesized from readily accessible NH and cyclohexanones. The Pd/HAP catalyst was reused several times though its catalytic performance gradually declined.

Background: The role of local infiltration anesthesia (LIA) in knee surgery is significant. LIA can be more potent than a nerve block, but without the downsides. A wide range of agents are used for LIA, including some off-label medications such as dexmedetomidine and ropivacaine.

Regional anesthesia is a popular method for surgical anesthesia in clavicular surgery. Selective blocking of the cervical 3, 4, and 5 nerve roots shows promise in clavicle surgery, with its fast onset, good anesthesia and less complications, necessitating evaluation of its impact on diaphragmatic function. The purpose of this study is to examine the safety of C3, 4, and 5 nerve root block for its application in clavicle surgery.

Background: Rapid onset of epidural analgesia is an important concern for the parturient. Commonly, the local anaesthetic mixture is administered through the epidural catheter. Drugs administered through the epidural needle might decrease the onset time and enhance the spread of medication within the epidural space.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of intravenous lidocaine injection on the half-maximum effective concentration (EC50) of remifentanil in preventing cough due to tracheal extubation in female patients undergoing thyroid surgery by Dixon's sequential method.

Methods: A total of 50 female patients underwent elective thyroidectomy were randomly divided into two groups of a 1:1 ratio. Group L (lidocaine group) was given intravenous lidocaine (1.

Intrathecal Morphine and Ropivacaine for Quality of Recovery After Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

Drug Des Devel Ther

December 2024

Department of Anesthesiology, Shengli Clinical Medical College of Fujian Medical University, Fujian Provincial Hospital, Fuzhou, Fujian, People's Republic of China.

Purpose: Intrathecal morphine is increasingly used for pain management in laparoscopic colorectal surgery. While ropivacaine shows advantages of reduced cardiotoxicity and faster motor recovery compared to bupivacaine, the impact of intrathecal morphine-ropivacaine combination on postoperative recovery quality remains unclear. This study aimed to evaluate this combination's effect on recovery outcomes after laparoscopic colorectal surgery.
