Purpose: Dentin hypersensitivity is characterized by short, sharp pain arising from exposed dentin in response to external stimuli. Several modalities have been suggested for treatment of this condition such as low-level laser therapy (LLLT) and application of dentin bonding agents. The aim of this study was to compare the clinical efficacy of diode laser, Nd:YAG laser and dentin bonding agent for treatment of dentin hypersensitivity.
Materials And Methods: In this study, 135 teeth of 22 patients diagnosed with dentin hypersensitivity were divided into three groups: In group 1, the teeth were irradiated by diode laser with 810 nm wavelength for 30 seconds and in group 2, the teeth were irradiated by Nd:YAG laser with 1064 nm wavelength for 40 seconds. CLEARFIL SE BOND was applied on teeth in group 3. LLLT was carried out in 3 sessions with 7-day intervals between sessions, during a period of 3 consecutive weeks. Hypersensitivity was assessed by cold test according to the criteria proposed by Uchida at baseline, immediately after treatment and at 1, 3 and 6 months, postoperatively.
Results: Reduction of dentin hypersensitivity was observed at 3 and 6 months following the use of Nd:YAG laser . Reduction in dentin hypersensitivity was observed immediately after treatment in all groups. Statistically significant differences in level of dentin hypersensitivity were found between groups at 3 and at 6 months . The reduction in dentin hypersensitivity by Nd:YAG laser was significantly superior to that in other groups at this time.
Conclusion: The efficacy of Nd:YAG laser in reduction of dentin hypersensitivity was significantly superior to that of other modalities at 3 and 6 months.

Background: Dentin hypersensitivity affects a significant portion of the world's population, causing pain and negatively impacting oral health and quality of life This clinical study investigated the effectiveness of a desensitizing fluoride silicon-rich dental gel associated with a calcium booster.
Material And Methods: In this single-blind, randomized, parallel-group clinical trial, forty-eight volunteers diagnosed with dentin hypersensitivity and qualified to participate were randomized into 2 groups: (1) fluoride silicon-rich dental gel (REFX Technology)/calcium booster (Si/Ca protocol); (2) Pumice stone diluted in saline. A draw was carried out between the right and left sides of the patients so that either a prophylaxis with the dental gel associated with calcium or with fine pumice stone diluted in saline was carried out.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of home-use desensitizing agents over an 8-week period by comparing them using different measurement methods.
Methods: A randomized, controlled clinical trial was conducted with 180 individuals aged between 18 and 70 who clinically diagnosed dentin hypersensitivity (DH) in two or more non-adjacent teeth. Subjects who met the inclusion criteria (n = 164) were randomly allocated into five test groups-using Casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP), Arginine, Novamin, Propolis, and Potassium nitrate-and a control group using standard fluoride toothpaste.

Dentin hypersensitivity is primarily caused by the exposure of dentinal tubules due to various factors, so the key to treatment is to effectively seal these exposed tubules. However, traditional dentinal tubule sealants used in clinical practice often fail to adhere securely to the tubule surface when exposed to external stimuli, resulting in a recurrence of sensitivity. In this study, we developed a silicon micromotor that moved autonomously and loaded with silver nanoparticles and a photosensitive adhesive for dentin sensitivity therapy.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate extrinsic tooth stain removal and whitening efficacy of two experimental dentifrices containing (i) 5% sodium tripolyphosphate (STP)/1% micronized alumina or (ii) 5% STP/1% micronized alumina with abrasive silica (ED2) compared to a regular fluoride dentifrice (RFD) following 8 weeks of use.
Materials And Methods: This was a single-center, randomized, controlled, blind, three-arm, stratified, parallel-group study. Eligible participants underwent clinical assessment of stain on the facial/lingual surfaces of maxillary and mandibular teeth using the modified Lobene stain index (MLSI), and shade of the facial surfaces of the central and lateral maxillary incisors using the VITA Bleachedguide 3D-Master (VITA) shade guide.
