New D-A-type catalysts based on Cu (II) complexes ( and ) including dipyrrin ligands with phenothiazine/carbazole as the -substituent have been described. The complexes have been thoroughly characterized by various methods (H, C, ESI-MS, EPR, and UV-vis studies), and structures of both and unequivocally determined by X-ray single crystal analyses. The catalysts and are stable at room temperature and exhibit Faradaic efficiency values of ∼56% () and ∼46% () toward homogeneous reduction of CO to CO.

Many small molecules require derivatization to increase their volatility and to be amenable to gas chromatographic (GC) separation. Derivatization is usually time-consuming, and typical batch-wise procedures increase sample variability. Sequential automation of derivatization via robotic liquid handling enables the overlapping of sample preparation and analysis, maximizing time efficiency and minimizing variability.

Beta-blockers are pharmaceuticals used to treat cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, angina pectoris, and arrhythmia. Due to high consumption, they are continuously released into the environment, being detected in many aqueous matrices. The aim of this research is to test the effectiveness of two green liquid-phase microextraction procedures, such as dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) and solidification of floating organic droplet microextraction (SFOME) for the selective extraction of eight beta-blockers (atenolol, nadolol, pindolol, acebutolol, metoprolol, bisoprolol, propranolol, and betaxolol) from aqueous matrices for their analysis by gas chromatography (GC) or liquid chromatography (LC).

This work studied the short-term stability of 6α-chloro-testosterone (6-CT), 6β-bromo-androstenedione (6-BrAED) and 6-oxo-androstenedione (6-oxo-AED) in methanol (MeOH) and dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) solutions by gas and liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry. Solutions of 6-CT, 6-BrAED and 6-oxo-AED were prepared in MeOH and DMSO. They were stored at room temperature, +4°C and -20 °C.

The application of agrochemicals such as organophosphate pesticides (OPPs) has several benefits in agriculture but also poses great risks to the environment and human well-being. Thus, this study was conducted to determine the concentrations, distribution pattern, relationships, potential risks and sources of OPPs in agricultural soils and vegetables from Delta Central District (DCD) of Nigeria to provide useful information for pollution history, establishment of pollution control measures and risk management. Fourteen OPPs were determined in the soil and vegetables using a gas chromatograph-mass selective detector (GC-MSD).
