Background: Lung transplantation is the treatment of choice for end-stage nonmalignant lung disease. It has become a routine procedure through advances in donor lung preservation, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, immunosuppression, intensive care medicine, and follow-up care.
Methods: This review is based on publications about lung transplantation that were retrieved by a selective literature search, and on the procedures and experience of two large-volume lung transplantation centers.

Introduction: Although there is a plethora of literature on electrocardiographic changes following cardiac allotransplantation, there is little in the field of cardiac xenotransplantation. The only published literature to date is that of the first pig-to-human cardiac xenotransplantation. Here we take a close look at the electrocardiographic parameters in four non-human primate recipients of orthotopic cardiac xenotransplantation to develop baseline metrics for comparison.

The transplantation of non-human organs into humans, or xenotransplantation (XTx), has recently garnered new attention and is being developed to help address the problem of organ scarcity in transplantation. Ethical issues surrounding XTx have been studied since initial interest arose decades ago and have experienced renewed discussion in the literature. However, the distinct and relevant differences when applied to children has largely been overlooked with few groups attending to the concerns that XTx in children raises.

Background: Previous research demonstrated the effects of Sorbaria sorbifolia (SS) in combating hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Despite SS's proven efficacy in treating HCC, the precise bioactive constituents contributing to its therapeutic benefits, along with the mechanisms behind them, warrant further exploration.
Purpose: The objective of our study was to illuminate the possible elements, targets, and modulatory pathways employed by specific bioactive components in SS for HCC treatment.
