NiFe-based materials, especially NiFe layered double hydroxides (LDHs), are recognized as the most promising non-precious metal electrocatalysts for alkaline oxygen evolution reaction (OER). However, the precisely designed distribution of active sites for enhancing activities is still significantly restricted due to the lack of reasonable modulation strategies. Herein, sulfur doped Ni/Fe gradient-distributed LDH (GD-NiFe LDH/S) is fabricated by facile air-induced strategy at room temperature.

We present a case of a 73-year-old female with medication refractory overactive bladder treated with the InterStim® sacral neuromodulation device. Five months post implantation she developed drainage over the lead site and rectal bleeding. Evaluation identified lead migration with rectal perforation requiring surgical removal of the battery and lead.

Objective: In this paper, we analyzed the outcomes of foreign bodies in the digestive tract of 42 children who were hospitalized in the pediatric department of a tertiary hospital in a medium-sized city in China. The focus is on discussing the indications for removal of foreign bodies via digestive endoscopy. Methods: Forty-two children with foreign bodies in the digestive tract, hospitalized from June 2020 to October 2022 were selected.

TEM-mediated interactions between PMNs and vascular endothelial cells (VECs) trigger a cascade of biochemical and mechanobiological signals whose effects on interstitial migration are currently unclear. To address this question, we cultured human VECs on a fibronectin-treated transwell insert to model the endothelium and basement membrane, loaded PMN-like differentiated HL60 (dHL-60) cells in the upper chamber of the insert, and collected the PMNs that crossed the membrane-supported monolayer from the lower chamber.

Chagas disease following infection with Trypanosoma cruzi is a major public health issue, with the disease spreading beyond endemic regions and becoming more global due to the migration of infected individuals. The currently available anti-parasitic drugs, nifurtimox and benznidazole, remain insufficiently evaluated for their efficacy in adult patients. A key challenge is the lack of markers for parasitological cure, which also precludes the development of new treatments.
