To reduce electromagnetic pollution as well as increase the accuracy of high-precision electronic equipment, more attention has been paid to new electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorbing materials, which have the advantages of strong absorption, wide absorption bands, and a narrow thickness. In this study, a novel ternary type of the NiS@rGO/polypyrrole (PPy) sandwich-like structured composites was synthesized via a facile two-step method, in which the hydrothermal method was used to prepare NiS@rGO binary composites and then the in situ polymerization method was used to synthesize the PPy, which acted as the outer layer of the sandwich-like structure. The morphologies and electromagnetic absorption performance of the NiS@rGO/PPy were measured and investigated. A sample with 6 wt% NiS@rGO/PPy loading paraffin-composite obtained an outstanding reflection loss (RL) of -58.7 dB at 16.44 GHz under a thickness of 2.03 mm. Simultaneously, the effective electromagnetic wave absorption bandwidth for RL < -10 dB, which covered 7.04 to 18.00 GHz (10.96 GHz), was achieved by changing the thickness of the absorber from 2.0 to 3.5 mm. The results not only suggest that the NiS@rGO/PPy composite has excellent performance in the field of EMW absorption but also prove that the novel sandwich-like structure can contribute to appropriate impedance matching through multiple relaxation and interfacial polarization processes.

The crystal structure of the title compound, hexa-aqua-nickel(II) dichloride-1,4,7,10,13,16-hexa-oxa-cyclo-octa-deca-ne-water (1/2/2), [Ni(HO)]Cl·2CHO·2HO, is reported. The asymmetric unit contains half of the Ni(OH) moiety with a formula of CHClNiO at 105 K and triclinic (1) symmetry. The [Ni(OH)] cation has close to ideal octa-hedral geometry with O-Ni-O bond angles that are within 3° of idealized values.

Hydrogen (H) production technology has sparked a boom in research aimed at alleviating environmental pollution and the pressure of nonrenewable energy sources. A key factor in this technology is the use of efficient photocatalysts. In this work, we successfully synthesized a 0D-2D-2D sandwich-like Ag/g-CN/MoS catalyst with bidirectional electron transfer channels via a calcination-hydrothermal method.

Manganese-based oxides are be regarded as one of the most promising cathode materials for aqueous zinc ion batteries (AZIBs). A major restriction of manganese-based oxides in practical applications is their unsatisfied structural stability due to the irreversible manganese dissolution. Additionally, the poor electrical conductivity also limits the rate capability.

The development of adsorbent and/or photocatalysts based on covalent triazine frameworks (CTF) is fascinating research due to their structural properties, functional groups, and active sites. Herein, a CTF-TiO heterojunction was synthesized by modifying CTF sheets with TiO particles through wet impregnation technique and adsorptive and photocatalytic activities determined for ciprofloxacin (CIP) removal. Comprehensive characterisation of the composites revealed suitable properties of the composites, such as sandwich-like CTF-TiO morphology, improved thermal stability, and better heteroatom effect (HAE).
