Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals are important bioelectrical signals widely used in brain activity studies, cognitive mechanism research, and the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders. However, EEG signals are often influenced by various physiological artifacts, which can significantly affect data analysis and diagnosis. Recently, deep learning-based EEG denoising methods have exhibited unique advantages over traditional methods.

Obesity represents a major health crisis in the United States, significantly increasing risks for chronic diseases and generating substantial economic costs. While bariatric surgery and pharmacological interventions such as GLP-1 receptor agonists have been proven effective in achieving substantial weight loss and improving comorbid conditions, they also raise concerns about the unintended loss of fat-free mass, particularly muscle. This loss of muscle mass compromises physical functionality, quality of life, and long-term metabolic health, particularly in individuals with sarcopenic obesity or those at risk of frailty.

Weaning in piglets presents significant physiological and immunological challenges, including gut dysbiosis and increased susceptibility to post-weaning diarrhoea (PWD). Abrupt dietary, environmental, and social changes during this period disrupt the intestinal barrier and microbiota, often necessitating antimicrobial use. Sustainable dietary strategies are critical to addressing these issues while reducing reliance on antimicrobials.

Cytochrome b reductase 3 (CYB5R3) overexpression upregulates mitochondrial biogenesis, function, and abundance in skeletal muscle and kidneys, and mimics some of the salutary effects of calorie restriction, with the most striking effects being observed in females. We aimed to investigate the mitochondrial adaptations prompted by CYB5R3 overexpression in the heart, an organ surprisingly overlooked in studies focused on this long-lived transgenic model despite the critical role played by CYB5R3 in supporting cardiomyocytes mitochondrial respiration. Given that CYB5R3 effects have been found to be sex-dependent, we focused our research on both males and females.
