A new species of the genus Kuzminykh, 1999, Dedov & Schneppat, , is described, which was collected from a single locality in northern Vietnam. Color pictures of living specimens are provided. For the first time, information on the ecology and biology of a representative of the genus is presented.

Article Synopsis
  • The terrestrial semislug genus, which belongs to the Helicarionidae family, includes nine species found in Thailand and Myanmar, with two species based solely on shell characteristics.
  • The taxonomy of these species is discussed using comparative morphology, leading to revised descriptions for four existing species, and the reclassification of another species into this genus.
  • Two new species, Pholyotha & Panha, sp. nov., are introduced, and unique shell and genital features are highlighted as distinguishing factors, with only one species lacking a dart apparatus.

Morphological and molecular characterization of brown-banded broodsacs and metacercariae of Leucochloridium (Trematoda: Leucochloridiidae) parasitizing the semi-slug Omalonyx unguis (Succineidae) in Argentina.

Trematodes of the genus Leucochloridium exhibit an unusual transmission strategy among mollusks (intermediate host). The fully developed sporocyst, housing encysted metacercariae, displays vivid coloration and rhythmic activity in the snail's tentacle, mimicking insect larvae. These strategies attract insectivorous birds, their final hosts, thereby increasing the chances of completing their life cycle.

In this study, we describe a new dancing semislug from a limestone hill area in northeastern Thailand. differs from the three recognized congener species from western and southern Thailand, due to differences in their body and shell lobes coloration, appearance of penial caecum, shape and surface texture of penis and epiphallus, and radula formula and morphology.

Knowledge of Thai semislugs remains scarce, especially the dancing semislug genus Prior to the present study, only a single species has been recognized with little available information. To address this knowledge gap, we surveyed for semislugs in western and southern Thailand, which yielded three species belonging to the genus . The little-known type species is redescribed herein, including a comparison with the type specimens.
