This paper is a critical analysis of the structure of the quantum revolution. I consider the factual question of how, historically and theoretically, the classical gave way to the quantum, and I argue for an answer that shows, contra Thomas Kuhn's influential philosophy of science, that it is the logic, and not the sociology and psychology, of research that correctly explains the classical-to-the-quantum paradigm shift. My approach is based not on archival studies but on a careful reading, in their original historical context, of Max Planck's and Albert Einstein's well-known papers; the burden of my argument, which at points will be outspoken, consists, then, in identifying and removing the impediments that prevent us from reading these papers in themselves.

Winter conditions may play an important role in these declines but are often overlooked. Animals must not only survive winter but also preserve body condition, a key determinant of growing season success.

Despite significant progress in understanding the molecular aetiology of muscle atrophy, there is still a great need for new targets and drugs capable of counteracting muscle wasting. The role of an impaired proteostasis as the underlying causal mechanism of muscle atrophy is a well-established concept. From the earliest work on muscle atrophy and the identification of the first atrogenes, the hyper-activation of the proteolytic systems, such as autophagy and the ubiquitin proteasome system, has been recognized as the major driver of atrophy.

Transcription factors (TFs) play a pivotal role in orchestrating critical intricate patterns of gene regulation. Although gene expression is complex, differential expression of hundreds of genes is often due to regulation by just a handful of TFs. Despite extensive efforts to elucidate TF-target regulatory relationships in Caenorhabditis elegans, existing experimental datasets cover distinct subsets of TFs and leave data integration challenging.

Air pollution and heat increase the prevalence and risk of anxiety disorders, which are particularly severe under the increasing trends of climate change and urbanization. Well-designed green spaces have mediating effects on the threats posed by environmental deterioration and promote public health. However, previous research has overlooked these effects.
