Histochemical methods allow for identification and localization of various components within the tissue. Such information on the spatial heterogeneity is not available with biochemical methods. However, there is limitation of the specificity of such detection in context of complex tissue, which is important to consider, and interpretations of the results should regard suitable control treatments if possible. Such methods are valuable extension to specific optical and spectroscopic analytical methods. Here we present a set of selected simple methods of staining and histochemical tests with comments based on our laboratory experience.

Development of a disease diagnostic model to predict the occurrence of central precocious puberty of female.

J Pediatr Endocrinol Metab

January 2025

Department of Endocrinology, Genetics and Metabolism, Beijing Children's Hospital, Capital Medical University, National Center for Children's Health, Beijing, China.

Objectives: To develop a clinical model for predicting the occurrence of Central Precocious Puberty based on the breast development outcomes in chinese girls.

Methods: This is a retrospective study, which included a total of 1,001 girls aged 6-9 years old who visited the outpatient clinic of Beijing Children's Hospital from January 2017 to October 2022 for "breast development". Participants were categorized into pubertal development (PD) cohort and simple premature breast development (PT) according to the criteria, and information was collected and tested for relevant indicators.

Genomic prediction applies to any agro- or ecologically relevant traits, with distinct ontologies and genetic architectures. Selecting the most appropriate model for the distribution of genetic effects and their associated allele frequencies in the training population is crucial. Linear regression models are often preferred for genomic prediction.

Developing sensitive and reliable methods for detecting antibiotics in water solutions is essential for protecting public health and the environment. Here, we report a novel fluorescent film with superior mechanical properties and detection response to ciprofloxacin (CIP), achieved through the in-situ growth of europium-based metal-organic frameworks on TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofibrils (TOCNF). Firstly, Eu(III) and 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid (DPA) served as precursors, and a simple self-assembly strategy was employed to grow the composite film material (Eu-DPA@TOCNF) in situ on TOCNF, which exhibited characteristic emission peaks.

Polydopamine-assisted ion-mediated hyaluronic acid grafting for effective construction of hemocompatible platform with cancer cell recognition.

Surfaces capable of specific biomolecule recognition are essential for cancer theranostics, biosensing, and tissue engineering. However, current grafting methods, critical for dictating the recognition efficiency and biocompatibility of biomaterials, especially hydrophilic polymers, struggle to balance high grafting density with ease of implementation. In pursuit of a simple, effective, and versatile solution, we introduced a polydopamine (PDA)-assisted Ca-mediated grafting strategy using hyaluronic acid (HA) as a model material.
