Ti and titanium alloy have been extensively utilized in the areas of orthopedics and other related fields, however, limited abilities in antibiosis, ossification and vascularization restrict the application of these materials in clinical. In this research, pulse electrochemical deposition was used as a method to make chitosan regulate Ag and Ca in situ, achieving ions' dual regulations and coprecipitation of HA nanoparticles (HA-NPs) and Ag nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) on the surface of Ti. The spherical nanoparticles with even distribution were fabricated by optimizing deposition potential and the concentration of Ag. The physical stabilities of coatings were significantly improved by the chelation among CS, Ag and Ca reducing the release rate of Ag, Ca. The coatings also exhibited noticeable abilities in anti-bacteria. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) displayed adhesion, proliferation and differentiation abilities on the surface of coatings, at the same time the composite coatings revealed promising capability in inducing BMSCs differentiation to osteoblast, which is proved by the results of fluorescent dye. Similar results also can be found in investigations about vascular endothelial cells, desirable adhesion between cells and materials and proliferation are able to prove that this kind of materials has outstanding biocompatibility with VECs cells. The animal experiments indicated that the composite coatings were biocompatible with smooth muscle, myocardium and lung with slightly negative impacts on liver and kidney. According to the results of alizarin red staining, the calcified nodules were dyed red, which reveal that this material can promote bone formation. Electrochemical method was utilized in this research to successfully construct multifunctional composite coatings, such as antibiosis, osteogenesis and angiogenesis, on the surface of Ti.

Inverse vulcanization (IV) enables the production of sustainable polymer from sulfur waste, offering hydrophobic, fluorine-free, and superhydrophobic coatings. However, these materials need adhesion improvements for enhanced durability. This study has developed an epoxy-, fluorine-, and metal-free superhydrophobic coating using the spray-coating of carbon nanofibers (CNFs), silica nanoparticles, and IV polymers on glass.

The adoption of carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technology is increasingly prevalent, driven by the global initiative to conserve energy and reduce emissions. Nevertheless, CCUS has the potential to induce corrosion in equipment, particularly in high-pressure environments containing carbon dioxide (CO). Therefore, anti-corrosion protection is necessary for the metal utilized for CO production and storage equipment.

Sterols and triterpene alcohols exist in free and esterified forms in edible oils. To date, only few studies have determined the content of free or esterified sterols and triterpene alcohols using gas chromatography-flame ionization detection (GC-FID). In this study, analytical conditions were optimized using free and esterified sterol standards.

Introduction: Chronic inflammation leading to implant failure present major challenges in orthopedics, dentistry, and reconstructive surgery. Titanium alloys, while widely used, often provoke inflammatory complications. Zinc-doped calcium phosphate (CaP) coatings offer potential to enhance implant integration by improving corrosion resistance, bioactivity, and immunocompatibility.

The development of earth-abundant oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalysts with high activity and durability is critical for replacing noble-metal-based catalysts in the applications of scalable water electrolysis. A freestanding electrode architecture offers significant advantages over conventional coated powder forms due to enhanced kinetics and stability. However, precise control over electrode composition and the construction of uniformly distributed active sites within these electrodes remain challenging.
