Purpose: The SPARED CRN (Study of Prostate Ablation Related Energy Devices Coordinated Registry Network) is a private-public partnership between academic and community urologists, the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration), the Medical Device Epidemiology Network and device manufacturers to examine the safety and effectiveness of technologies for partial gland ablation in men with localized prostate cancer.
Materials And Methods: We report on a recent workshop at the FDA with thought leaders to discuss a critical framework for partial gland ablation, focusing on patient selection, surgical planning, followup, study design and appropriate comparators in terms of adverse events and cancer control outcomes. We summarize salient points from experts in urology, oncology and epidemiology that were presented and discussed in an open forum.
Results: Given the challenges in achieving patient and physician equipoise to perform a randomized trial, as well as an inherent paradigm shift when comparing partial gland ablation (inability to assess prostate specific antigen recurrence) to whole gland treatments, the group focused on objective performance criteria and goals as a platform to guide the creation of single arm studies in the SPARED CRN.
Conclusions: This summit lays the foundation for prospective, multi-center data collection and evaluation of novel medical devices and drug/device combinations for partial gland ablation.

The correlation between thyroid hormone (TH) sensitivity and microvascular complications of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) remains uncertain. This study aimed to explore the association between TH sensitivity and the risk of diabetic kidney disease (DKD), diabetic retinopathy (DR), and diabetic neuropathy (DNP) in euthyroid T2DM patients. This study included a total of 946 hospitalized T2DM patients and calculated their sensitivity to the TH index, and each patient completed screenings for DKD, DR, and DNP.

Feed cost represents about 70% of the total production costs of rabbit farms. There is little research on the usage of Berseem and Fenugreek seeds as substitutes for soybeans in rabbit diets. The current investigation was conducted to assess the influence of dietary inclusion of Fenugreek and/or Berseem seeds at varying levels as a substitute for soybean meal on reproductive performance, milk production, maternal behaviour, economic efficiency, mammary gland and ovarian histology, and relative expression of reproductive genes of New Zealand White rabbit does.

Purpose: A novel proton beam delivery method known as DynamicARC spot scanning has been introduced. The current study aims to determine whether the partial proton arc technique, in conjunction with DynamicARC pencil beam scanning (PBS), can meet clinical acceptance criteria for bilateral head and neck cancer (HNC) and provide an alternative to full proton arc and traditional intensity-modulated proton therapy (IMPT).
Method: The study retrospectively included anonymized CT datasets from ten patients with bilateral HNC, all of whom had previously received photon treatment.

Background And Objective: Toxicity from local salvage therapy for radiorecurrent prostate cancer (PCa) remains a concern. This phase 2 study evaluates the outcomes of salvage magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-guided transurethral ultrasound ablation (sTULSA).
Methods: Men with biochemically relapsed, biopsy-proven PCa following definitive radiotherapy underwent whole- or partial-gland sTULSA (NCT03350529).

Introduction: Recent advances in image-guided brachytherapy have allowed for treatment volume reduction in the treatment of prostate cancer, with the aim to optimize disease control and reduce toxicities. This systematic review reports on the efficacy and safety of focal brachytherapy for treatment of patients with localized prostate cancer.
Methods: Medline, Embase, Web of Science and Cochrane were searched from inception to July 2023.
