We evaluated the role of immunoglobulin binding protein 1 (IGBP1), a phosphoprotein associated with the B cell receptor (BCR) complex, as a urine biomarker in lupus nephritis (LN). The IGBP1 concentrations in plasma and urine of patients with LN, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) without nephritis and healthy controls were estimated by ELISA. IGBP1 expression in the kidneys of LN patients and transplantation donors was detected by immunohistochemistry. Microarray-based global gene expression profile of HK-2 cells with knock-down and fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) for intracellular IGBP1 expression in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) was performed. Urine IGBP1 levels were elevated significantly in LN patients, and it correlated with the clinical activity indices (complement 3 (C3) level, anti-dsDNA antibodies titer, SLE Disease Activity Index-2000 (SLEDAI-2K) and histological activity index. IGBP1 expression was increased in LN patients as compared to the donors and was detected mainly in the tubules by histopathology. In microarray analysis, several genes related to SLE pathogenesis (, , , , , , and ) responded to siRNA-mediated silencing. In FACS, IGBP1 was expressed mainly in the CD14 cells. The overall expression of IGBP1 in PBMCs was higher in LN patients as compared with that in SLE patients without nephritis. Conclusively, urinary IGBP1 may be a novel biomarker reflecting the clinical and histological activities in LN.

Undifferentiated spermatogonia (Undiff-SPG) plays a critical role in maintaining continual spermatogenesis. However, the toxic effects and molecular mechanisms of maternal exposure to nanoplastics on offspring Undiff-SPG remain elusive. Here, we utilized a multiomics combined cytomorphological approach to explore the reproductive toxicity and mechanisms of polystyrene nanoplastics (PS-NPs) on offspring Undiff-SPG in mice after maternal exposure.

Purpose: To investigate the prognostic value of N6-methyladenosine (m6A)-, 5-methylcytosine (m5C)-, and N1-methyladenosine (m1A)-related genes in cervical cancer (CESC) and predicting immunotherapy response.

Methods: We downloaded cervical cancer mRNA expression profiles, clinical data, and m6A, m5C, m1A-related genes from public databases, and subjected them to serial bioinformatics analysis and clinical sample validation.

Results: Differential analysis revealed 106 methylation-related differential genes (MEDs), including 44 differentially downregulated and 62 upregulated genes.

Background: Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), which is a form of cancer arising from the epithelium of the nasopharynx, remains highly prevalent, particularly in Southeast Asia and Southern China. Dysregulated long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are involved in several malignancies, including the growth and aggression of tumors. LncRNA IGBP1-AS1 plays an important role in the advancement of breast cancer, but its role in NPC has not yet been explored.

Primiparous female rabbits have high nutritional requirements and, while it is recommended that they are subjected to an extensive reproductive rhythm, this could lead to overweight, affecting reproductive outcomes. We hypothesised that restricting food intake during the less energetic period of gestation could improve reproductive outcome without impairing offspring viability. This study compares two groups of primiparous rabbit does in an extensive reproductive programme, one in which feed was restricted from Day 0 to Day 21 of gestation (R021), and another in which does were fed ad libitum (control) throughout pregnancy.

Gut epithelial restitution after superficial wounding is an important repair modality regulated by numerous factors including Ca signaling and cellular polyamines. Transient receptor potential canonical-1 (TRPC1) functions as a store-operated Ca channel in intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) and its activation increases epithelial restitution by inducing Ca influx after acute injury. α4 is a multiple functional protein and implicated in many aspects of cell functions by modulating protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) stability and activity.
