Background: We sought to investigate the clinical features and F-FDG PET/CT characteristics of pulmonary sclerosing pneumocytoma (PSP).
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed and comparatively analyzed F-FDG PET/CT imaging results of 22 patients with diagnosed PSP in our hospital from November 2009 to September 2015.
Results: The SUV in tumors was positively correlated with tumor size in typical PSPs (R = 0.806, R = 0.650, P = 0.001); however, the SUV in tumors had no significant correlation with tumor size of atypical PSPs (R = 0.479, R = 0.229, P = 0.162), and the degree of correlation between them attenuated when atypical PSPs were included (R = 0.518, R = 0.268, P = 0.011). A majority (90%) of atypical PSPs were found in males. Symptomatic patients showed a higher SUV than the asymptomatic group (5.68 ± 3.63 vs. 2.76 ± 1.18, respectively, P = 0.002).
Conclusion: Tumor size and clinical features may be associated with increased FDG uptake in PSPs. Morphological differences may affect the correlation between tumor size and SUV in PSPs. The atypical form of PSP may be more common in men.

Currently, the World Health Organization (WHO) grade of meningiomas is determined based on the biopsy results. Therefore, accurate non-invasive preoperative grading could significantly improve treatment planning and patient outcomes. Considering recent advances in machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL), this meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the performance of these models in predicting the WHO meningioma grade using imaging data.

Purpose: To evaluate the effects of four-dimensional noise reduction filtering using a similarity algorithm (4D-SF) on the image quality and tumor visibility of low-dose dynamic computed tomography (CT) in evaluating breast cancer.
Materials And Methods: Thirty-four patients with 38 lesions who underwent low-dose dynamic breast CT and were pathologically diagnosed with breast cancer were enrolled. Dynamic CT images were reconstructed using iterative reconstruction alone or in combination with 4D-SF.

Background: Next-generation sequencing has revolutionized genome science over the last two decades. Indeed, the wealth of sequence information on our genome has deepened our understanding on cancer. Cancer is a genetic disease caused by genetic or epigenetic alternations that affect the expression of genes that control cell functions, particularly cell growth and division.

In non-papillary follicular cell-derived thyroid carcinomas, prognostic factors are scarce. Intratumoral fibrosis was identified as an adverse factor in papillary and medullary carcinomas, but it has not been investigated in other subtypes. We aimed at exploring the presence of intratumoral fibrosclerosis in a cohort of 132 non-papillary follicular cell-derived thyroid carcinomas (53 follicular and 31 oncocytic carcinomas, including 10 high grade differentiated thyroid carcinomas and 48 poorly differentiated carcinomas) and correlating its presence and extent with clinical and pathological features and survival.

Background: Both laparoscopic hepatectomy (LH) and robotic hepatectomy (RH) have been performed for tumors in nearly all liver segments. However, few studies have compared the outcomes of patients who underwent open hepatectomy (OH), LH and RH for the treatment of Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) stage 0-A HCC in S7/8.
Methods: The clinical data of patients who underwent S7/8 resection for the treatment of BCLC stage 0-A HCC in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from July 2017 to July 2023 were retrospectively collected.
