This paper presents our latest experimental results on high-temperature superconducting (HTS) splice joints for HTS insert coils made of YBCO and Bi2223, that comprise a 1.3 GHz low-temperature superconducting/HTS nuclear magnetic resonance magnet currently under development at Francis Bitter Magnet Laboratory. HTS splice joint resistivity at 77 K in these insert coils must be reproducible and 100 nΩ cm. Several YBCO tape to YBCO tape (YBCO-YBCO) splicejoint samples were fabricated, and their resistivity and were measured at 77 K. First, we describe the joint splicing setup and discuss the parameters that affect joint resistivity: pressure over joint surface, solder, and YBCO spool batch. Second, we report results on YBCO-YBCO joints at 77 K in zero field. Measurements have shown that spool batch and solder are primary sources of a wide range of variation in YBCO-YBCO joint resistivity. By controlling these parameters, we expect to reproducibly achieve HTS-HTS resistive joints of resistance 100 nΩ cm.

Background: Polydatin (PD), also known as tiger cane glycoside, is a natural compound extracted from the Japanese knotweed plant, which is often referred to as white resveratrol. It exhibits anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-apoptotic effects in the treatment of various diseases. However, the potential molecular mechanisms of PD in osteoarthritis have not been clearly elucidated.

Background: Oxyberberine (OBB) is a naturally occurring isoquinoline alkaloid that is believed to possess various health-promoting properties, including anti-fungus, hepatoprotection, anti-inflammation, and anti-intestinal mucositis effects. Despite several studies reporting the health benefits of OBB in treating ulcerative colitis (UC), its specific mechanism of action has yet to be fully elucidated.

Purpose: This investigation is designed to explore the potential protective efficacy of OBB and the latent mechanism using an model of UC-like inflammatory intestinal cells.

() is a Gram-positive bacterium commonly colonizing the skin and mucosa in healthy individuals and hospitalized patients. Traditionally regarded as a contaminant, is now increasingly recognized as a potential cause of clinical infections, especially after the coronavirus disease pandemic. It has emerged as a pathogen implicated in severe infections, including pneumonia, bacteremia, meningitis, artificial joint infections, abdominal infections, and endocarditis.

Background: Sheep coccidiosis could disturb the balance of intestinal microbiota, causing diarrhea, and even death in lambs. Chemical drugs are the primary method of treating sheep coccidiosis, but their use will bring drug resistance, toxic side effects, drug residues, and other problems. Chinese herbal medicines are investigated as alternative methods for controlling coccidian infections.
