Exploring the Credibility of Large Language Models for Mental Health Support: Protocol for a Scoping Review.

JMIR Res Protoc

January 2025

Data and Web Science Group, School of Business Informatics and Mathematics, University of Manneim, Mannheim, Germany.

Background: The rapid evolution of large language models (LLMs), such as Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT; Google) and GPT (OpenAI), has introduced significant advancements in natural language processing. These models are increasingly integrated into various applications, including mental health support. However, the credibility of LLMs in providing reliable and explainable mental health information and support remains underexplored.

Purpose Of Review: Protein intake is recognized as a key nutritional factor crucial for optimizing Metabolic Bariatric Surgery (MBS) outcomes by preventing protein malnutrition, preserving fat-free mass, and inducing satiety. This paper discusses the current evidence regarding protein intake and its impact on clinical outcomes following MBS.

Recent Findings: There are considerable gaps in the understanding of protein requirements following MBS, as existing guidelines are based on limited and inconsistent reports.

Update in Cardiovascular Prevention: From Risk Scores to Imaging.

R I Med J (2013)

February 2025

Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine, Brown University, Providence RI.

Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) remains the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. This review explores the evolving evidence base surrounding ASCVD prevention, particularly regarding nontraditional biomarkers, risk scores, and cardiovascular imaging modalities. Additionally, this review examines cardiovascular risk scores, including the PREVENT and MESA-CHD scores, which incorporate both traditional and nontraditional factors, thereby aspiring to offer a more equitable and precise risk assessment.

Background: Suboptimal adherence to PrEP limits its global impact, with current evidence mostly from the Global North and lacking Global South perspectives. This meta-analysis synthesises the rates and determinants of suboptimal adherence to oral PrEP among MSM in both regions.

Methods: We searched for literature describing PrEP adherence and its determinants among MSM globally up until October 2024 to conduct a meta-analysis on the rate and determinants of suboptimal adherence in both regions.

SUMMARY (the "pneumococcus") is a significant human pathogen. The key determinant of pneumococcal fitness and virulence is its ability to produce a protective polysaccharide (PS) capsule, and anti-capsule antibodies mediate serotype-specific opsonophagocytic killing of bacteria. Notably, immunization with pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (PCVs) has effectively reduced the burden of disease caused by serotypes included in vaccines but has also spurred a relative upsurge in the prevalence of non-vaccine serotypes.
