Several new (5-aryloxy-pyrazolyl)- and (5-aryl/olefin-sulfanyl-pyrazolyl)-dibenzo[b,e] [1,4] diazepinone scaffolds have been synthesized, by assembling 5-substituted 3-methyl-1-phenyl-pyrazole-4-carbaldehydes of varied nature with different cyclic diketones and aromatic diamines successfully in the presence of indium chloride in acetonitrile, at room temperature. Desired products are excellent in the purity and isolated without chromatography. All new structures are confirmed, on the basis of single-crystal X-ray diffraction data of representative 29e. Compounds reported in the present work revealed good antioxidant, antimicrobial and antiproliferative activities with promising FRAP (ferric reducing antioxidant power), bacterial resistance and human solid tumor cell growth inhibitory values, respectively. Compounds 25c and 29e, overall, registered good to moderate activity against A549 (lung), HeLa (cervix), SW1573 (lung) T-47D (breast) and WiDr (colon) cell lines, with GI values in the 2.6-5.1 μM and 1.8-7.5 μM ranges, respectively. Molecular docking was carried out to elucidate the binding modes of the compounds (25c, 29e) to topoisomerase I and II.

West Nile Virus (WNV) and Usutu virus (USUV) circulate through complex cryptic transmission cycles involving mosquitoes as vectors, birds as amplifying hosts and several mammal species as dead-end hosts. Both viruses can be transmitted to humans through mosquito bites, which can lead to neuroinvasive and potentially fatal disease. Notably, WNV can also be transmitted through blood donations and organ transplants.

Watermelon (), it's an important fruit in Brazil, producing 1.9 million ton/year, occupies the fifth place in the world, (FAO, 2022), but post-harvest diseases are a major limitation, leading to losses of up to 15% (Balasubramaniam et al. 2023).

Light-harvesting complex II (LHCII), the most abundant membrane protein in photosystem II, plays dual roles, i.e., efficient light harvesting and energy transfer to the reaction center under low light conditions and dissipating excess energy as heat to prevent photodamage under high irradiation conditions.

Actuators based on liquid crystals have garnered significant attention due to their potential applications in wearable technology and bionic soft robots. Composite films composed of liquid crystal polymer networks (LCNs) and other stimulus-responsive materials exhibit the capability to convert external stimuli into mechanical deformation. However, the development of sunlight-driven actuators presents significant challenges, primarily due to the relatively low intensity of sunlight and the limited conversion efficiency of photothermal materials.

The work describes a novel sensing and transportation feasibility of the well-established antifungal drug Flucytosine (5-FC) using a 2D Silicon carbide (SiC) and Germanium-doped Silicon carbide (Ge@SiC) nanosheet via PBE level of Density functional theory. The computational study revealed that the drug molecules adhere to SiC and Ge@SiC sheets, maintaining their structural properties through physisorption on SiC and chemisorption on Ge@SiC. The charge transfer process associated with the adsorption is observed by Lowdin charge analysis and both the SiC and Ge@SiC sheets are identified as a feasible oxidation-based nanosensor for the drug.
