The gut microbiome, recognized as a critical component in the development of chronic diseases and aging processes, constitutes a promising approach for predicting host health status. Previous research has underscored the potential of microbiome-based predictions, and the rapid advancements of machine learning techniques have introduced new opportunities for exploiting microbiome data. To predict various host nonhealthy conditions, this study proposed an integrated machine learning-based estimation pipeline of Gut Age Index (GAI) by establishing a health aging baseline with the gut microbiome data from healthy individuals.

The human microbiome consists of diverse microorganisms that inhabit various body sites. As these microbes are increasingly recognized as key determinants of health, there is significant interest in leveraging individual microbiome profiles for early disease detection, prevention, and drug efficacy prediction. However, the complexity of microbiome data, coupled with conflicting study outcomes, has hindered its integration into clinical practice.

Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), a synthetic antimalarial, is recognized for its immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory and vascular-protective effects. In 20-30% of cases of primary obstetrical antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), the combination of antiplatelet aggregation and prophylactic anticoagulation fails to prevent obstetrical complications, a situation referred to as refractory obstetrical APS. This is partly due to the pro-inflammatory effects of antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL) binding to decidual and trophoblastic cells, which compromise embryonic implantation and placentation.

Melanoma, recognized as one of the most aggressive forms of skin cancer, continues to show a steady rise in global incidence. While Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) has been identified as a potential intralesional therapy for melanoma, its therapeutic efficacy remains suboptimal. This study introduces a novel thermosensitive hydrogel formulated with BCG lysates and either OVA peptide or tumor cell lysates (PPP-BCG-OVA/TL).
