In the present paper, a new analytical preconcentration/speciation method for antimony species determination in bottled mineral water samples using the SiO/AlO/SnO adsorbent was developed. The method is based on selective adsorption of Sb(III) ions by SiO/AlO/SnO under a wide pH range (2.5-7.5). Total antimony was determined with previous sample treatment using 0.1% (w/v) l-cysteine and the concentration of Sb(V) species was determined by the difference between total and Sb(III). The proposed method provided an analytical curve ranging from 0.50 to 5.00 μg L (r = 0.999), limit of detection (LD) of 0.17 µg L and preconcentration factor (PF) of 136-fold. The method exhibited tolerance to different metal ions and the accuracy was attested from addition and recovery tests (95.2-106.0%) in bottled mineral water samples using 2.0% (w/v) l-cysteine, as well as by analysis of certified material. Only Sb(III) species were determined in mineral water (0.54-1.04 μg L).

Loading water drilling rig on the anchor digging machine can effectively increase the tunneling efficiency. In order to avoid the interference between the water drilling rig and the anchor machine in the working process, it is necessary to calculate the joint variables of the drilling rig accurately. Using the robot kinematics analysis method, the kinematics model of the system is established.

Cadmium (Cd) contamination in aquatic systems is a widespread environmental issue. In this study, a solid waste iron tailings and biochar hybrid (Fe-TWBC) was successfully synthesized derived from co-pyrolysis of peanut shell and tailing waste (Fe-TW). Characterization analyses showed that the metal oxides from solid waste iron tailings successfully loaded onto the biochar surface, with more functional groups in Fe-TWBC.

Illite mineral is present in shale rocks, and its wettability behavior is significant for the oil and gas industry. In this work, the pH effects on the affinity between the (001) and (010) crystallographic planes of illite K(SiAl)(AlMg)O(OH) and direct and inverse emulsions were studied using molecular dynamics simulations. To develop the simulations, an atomistic model of illite was constructed following Löwenstein's rule.

Portable sensor technologies are indispensable in personalized healthcare and environmental monitoring as they enable the continuous tracking of key analytes. Human sweat contains valuable physiological information, and previously developed noninvasive sweat-based sensors have effectively monitored single or multiple biomarkers. By successfully detecting biochemicals in sweat, portable sensors could also significantly broaden their application scope, encompassing non-biological fluids commonly encountered in daily life, such as mineral water.

State Key Laboratory of Shield Machine and Boring Technology, Zhengzhou, 450001, Henan, China.

As a novel type of pulsed water jet (PWJ), the pressurized pulsed water jet (PPWJ) shows great potential in the field of rock fragmentation engineering. In this study, the macro and micro morphologies of erosion craters on different targets (sandstone and granite) were measured to investigate the rock fragmentation characteristics of PPWJ. The results show that the fragmentation processes of granite and sandstone are significantly different from each other.
