We compared night deployments of Baited Remote Underwater Video Stations (BRUVS) in South Australia, illuminated by either red or blue light and found similar species compositions and abundances with both colours. We observed c. 1800 individuals from 52 species across 107 night-time deployments, with only one site out of six showing differences in assemblages between the two colours. With five out of six sites showing similarities between light colours our results differ from previous results and more generally suggest that the most suitable colour can differ among studies.

Background: Dermoscopy is a noninvasive technology used to examine the skin's invisible microstructures in dermatological practice and is gaining prominence as a crucial tool. Dermoscopy is an evidence-based practice used to enhance the early detection of skin malignancies and to help distinguish between various skin conditions, including pigmented and nonpigmented skin malignancies. Currently, the vast majority of global guidelines for skin cancer recommend dermoscopy as a critical component.

Background: Serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL) is a biomarker for neuro-axonal injury.
Objectives: To assess sNfL's utility as a diagnostic marker for Lyme neuroborreliosis (LNB).
Methods: We compared serum and CSF NfL levels in LNB patients and age-matched controls.

Chemical modifications are widely used in research fields such as quantitative proteomics and interaction analyses. Chemical-modification targets can be roughly divided into four categories, including those that integrate isotope labels for quantification purposes, probe the structures of proteins through covalent labeling or cross-linking, incorporate labels to improve the ionization or dissociation of characteristic peptides in complex mixtures, and affinity-enrich various poorly abundant protein translational modifications (PTMs). A chemical modification reaction needs to be simple and efficient for use in proteomics analysis, and should be performed without any complicated process for preparing the labeling reagent.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a destructive autoimmune disease that seriously affects human health. Due to the lack of a cure for RA, a good prognosis largely depends on early diagnosis and effective treatment monitoring of RA. Therefore, the development of fluorescent probes capable of real-time detection of RA is of great significance.
