Background And Purpose: Poststroke fatigue (PSF) is prevalent and often manifests as high perceived effort during activities. Little is known about how PSF influences goal-directed reaching after stroke. The purpose of this study was 2-fold (1) to evaluate how perceived effort changed when individuals with stroke performed a reaching task with various demands and (2) to determine whether PSF was associated with perceived effort during reaching and reach performance.

A boy in his late adolescence, with no history of airway disease or medication use, presented with acute history of non-exertional chest pain increased on coughing and deep inspiration accompanied by dysphonia and odynophagia in the last 1 day. He had a notable history of viral fever with non-productive cough 2 weeks prior, which resolved spontaneously. Examination revealed stable haemodynamic parameters.

Patients who are diagnosed with dextrocardia, a rare congenital heart condition in which the heart points toward the right side of the chest, need their specific situs classification (eg, solitus, inversus, ambiguus) ascertained to optimize their care and outcomes. In this report, we discuss the perioperative anesthetic management of a patient presenting with dextrocardia. A 44-year-old African American female with a history of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and diabetes mellitus type 2 was admitted for shortness of breath, dyspnea on exertion, orthopnea, and paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea.

We describe functional and anatomical imaging findings in an 86-year-old woman who was treated for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation 5 years ago with radiofrequency ablation. She had been symptom-free for 4 years. Five years after the ablation, she presented with exertional dyspnea of several months' duration.

Rationale: Cardiac primary spindle cell sarcoma is 1 of the rarest cardiac malignancies, with only a few cases reported so far. Herein, we reported a case of left atrial spindle cell sarcoma diagnosed and treated by a multidisciplinary approach, and retrospectively reviewed other reported cases.
Patient Concerns: A 49-year-old woman presented to our hospital with 2 weeks of gradual onset of dyspnea on exertion, dry cough and subacute fever.
