Atypical twinning highlights that complex mechanisms responsible for twinning are not fully understood and may give further insight into the mechanisms involved. To assume that phenotypic difference is the result of dizygotic twinning would be erroneous and could have significant implications in the care and counseling provided to these patients.

Background: Ulnar mammary syndrome (UMS) is an autosomal dominant disorder caused by heterozygous pathogenic variants in the T-box transcription factor 3 (TBX3) gene. The phenotype is classically characterized by upper limb defects and apocrine/mammary gland hypoplasia. Endocrine abnormalities include hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (HH), partial growth hormone deficiency and dysmorphic features, while ectopic pituitary gland and various congenital anomalies have also been described.

Single-crystal growth, differential thermal analysis (DTA), derivative thermogravimetry (DTG), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray structural studies and polarized microscopy observations of bis(ethylenediammonium) tetrabromozincate(II) bromide [NH(CH)NH][ZnBr]Br are presented. A reversible phase transition is described. At room temperature, the complex crystallizes in the monoclinic system.

Heteropagus, also known as parasitic twining, is the asymmetric twinning of conjoined identical or monozygotic twins. One severely deficient twin (the parasite) relies on the other twin's heart (the autosite) to survive. The circumstance only arises when parts of the body of the developed and delivered twin are joined to the undeveloped or underdeveloped twin.

Research into the risk of anorexia nervosa (AN) has examined twin pairs to further the understanding of the contributions of genetics, trait inheritance, and environmental factors to eating disorder (ED) development. Investigations of twin experiences of EDs have been biologically-based and have not considered the qualitative, phenomenological aspects of twin experiences. A gap in the literature exists regarding understanding of discordant twins with EDs.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the different pathways between predictor factors such as zygosity, atypical swallowing, mouth breathing, breastfeeding and bottle feeding related to anterior open bite (AOB) in twins.
Methods: The study was conducted in monozygotic (MZ) and dizygotic (DZ) twin children aged 3-15 years. AOB, atypical swallowing, mouth breathing, feeding type, duration of bottle use, and mouth opening status during sleep were recorded during oral examination.
