Over the past decades, a frequent co-morbidity of cerebrovascular pathology and Alzheimer's disease has been observed. Numerous published studies indicate that the preservation of a healthy cerebrovascular endothelium can be an important therapeutic target. By incorporating the appropriate drug(s) into biomimetic (lipid cubic phase) nanocarriers, one obtains a multitasking combination therapeutic, which targets certain cell surface scavenger receptors, mainly class B type I (i.e., SR-BI), and crosses the blood⁻brain barrier. This targeting allows for various cell types related to Alzheimer's to be simultaneously searched out for localized drug treatment in vivo.

Background: Current evidence on the associations between insulin resistance (IR) and Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection remains limited. This study aimed to investigate the association between non-insulin-based surrogate markers of IR, including the triglyceride glucose (TyG) index, triglyceride to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (TG/HDL-C) ratio, and the metabolic score for IR (METS-IR), and H.

Although the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index has been established as a valuable predictor for cardiovascular disease (CVD) and cardiovascular mortality, there is limited research exploring its association with all-cause or CVD mortality specifically in adults with diabetes aged < 65 years without cardiovascular disease. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the TyG index and both all-cause and CVD mortality in this population within the United States. Our study recruited 1778 adults with diabetes aged < 65 years without cardiovascular disease from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2003-2018.

Self-assembled lipid structures are already used in a variety of industries including cosmetics, drug delivery and as microreactors. However, most research into lipid self-assembly has been limited to aqueous solvents.

Tyrosine kinase inhibitors have been employed for the treatment of lung cancer, owing to their role in regulating irregulated pathways or mutated genes. Bosutinib, a nonreceptor tyrosine kinase, has been recently investigated for lung cancer treatment. Bosutinib can also be used with paclitaxel as a combinatorial approach to receive a synergistic effect for the effective management of lung cancer.

Background: Frailty is an increasingly important determinant in the field of health, and its identification has important clinical significance in the field of critical care medicine. However, there are still a large number of challenges in quick and accurate identification of frailty. This study aims to evaluate the value of the neutrophil/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio (NHR) in frailty and its long-term survival.
