The development of optically pure drugs is the trend of new drugs research. Searching for optically pure metallodrugs against cancer has not been taken seriously. [CuLCl]Cl·2CHCl·HO (1) and [CuLBr]Br·2CHCl (2) (L = 2-amino-5-dehydroabietyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole), two rosin-derivative based optically pure chiral copper(II) complexes, are rationally synthesized as potential anticancer agents. 1 exhibits effective in vitro and in vivo anticancer activities and tolerable toxicities. 1 promotes MCF-7 cell death by combination of cell arrest at G1 phase, apoptosis (both extrinsic and intrinsic apoptotic pathways), anti-metastasis, anti-angiogenesis, damage of DNA, protein and lipid, and autophagy mediated by the oxidative stress which is confirmed by ROS generation and intracellular glutathione depletion assays. 1 can be identified as a lead anticancer molecule of therapeutic importance. This work may offer insights into the design and mechanism study of multifunctional optically pure metal-based anticancer candidates derived from natural products.

Turning Trash to Treasure Laboratory (TTTL), Research and Development Center, University of Sulaimani, Qlyasan Street, Kurdistan Regional Government, Sulaymaniyah, 46001, Iraq.

The current study used sustainable and green approaches to convey polymer composites with desired optical properties. The extracted green tea dye (GTD) enriched with ligands was used to synthesize zinc metal complexes. Green chitosan biopolymer incorporated with green synthesized metal complex using casting technique was used to deliver polymer composites with improved optical properties.

Metal halide perovskite nanoplatelets (NPls) possess ultra-narrow photoluminescence (PL) bands tunable over the entire visible spectral range, which makes them promising for utilization in light-emitting diodes (LEDs) with spectrally pure emission colors. This calls for development of synthetic methods toward perovskite NPls with a high degree of control over both their thickness and lateral dimensions. A general strategy is developed to obtain such monodisperse CsPbI NPls through the control over the halide-to-lead ratio during heating-up reaction.

Transition metal based optical limiting materials have garnered significant attention due their crucial role in protecting sensitive optical system from high intense laser damage. Transition metal molybdates exhibits nonlinear optical (NLO) response, which attenuate highly intense light by transmitting light of desired intensity. Herein we report Silver molybdate (AgMoO) nanostructures doped with erbium (Er) ions were successfully synthesized by simple co-precipitation technique.

ENT Institute and Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Eye & ENT Hospital, Fudan University, Shanghai, 200031, China.

Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic potential of spontaneous otoacoustic emissions (SOAE), distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAE), and pure-tone audiometry (PTA) in patients with pulsatile tinnitus (PT) caused by sigmoid sinus wall anomalies (SSWA).

Methods: This study included 20 PT patients and 20 matched healthy controls. SOAE, DPOAE, and PTA were assessed before and after compression of the internal jugular vein.
