Effect of Moisture Sorption and Lactose Type on Tablet Quality: A Hygroscopicity Study between Lactose Powder and Tablets.

Mol Pharm

January 2025

Engineering Research Center of Modern Preparation Technology of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Ministry of Education, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, No.1200, Cai-lun Road, Pudong District, Shanghai 201203, P. R. China.

Lactose is one of the most commonly used tablet diluents and fillers. However, the moisture sorption of lactose powder could exert detrimental effects on the excipient itself, as well as on the tablet quality. The effects of storage relative humidity (RH) conditions for different grades of lactose powders and tablets on compression behavior and tablet qualities were investigated.

Deaf futurity: designing and innovating hearing aids.

Med Humanit

January 2025

History, University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware, USA

One of the tenets of a posthuman vision is the eradication of disability through technology. Within this site of 'no future', as Alison Kafer describes, the disabled body is merged with artificial intelligence technology or transformed into a prosthetic superhuman. These imaginative possibilities are materialised in a future-oriented mindset in contemporary technological innovation, including hearing aids and other devices-such as vibrating vests to 'feel sounds' or sign language gloves, what design critic Liz Jackson defines as 'disability dongles'-designed to bypass deafness that simultaneously provide a 'cure' and create a 'post-deaf reality'.

Electronic address:

This study explored the impact of varying alkalinity levels in pH-shifting treatments on egg yolk protein (EYP) emulsification and investigated the underlying oil-water interface adsorption mechanism. Increasing alkaline pH-shifting treatment exposed more hydrophobic groups within EYP, altering its tertiary structure. Moreover, pH-shifting treatment reduced solution particle size (P < 0.

Addressing the issues of inefficiency and severe environmental pollution associated with artificial and chemical methods in cotton growth regulation, this study introduces the high-voltage electrostatic field environmental control technology. It delves into the technology's macro- and microscopic impacts on cotton seedling growth and optimizes its operational parameters. At the macro level, the study examines the influence of adjusting the output voltage of the high-voltage electrostatic generator, the distance between the upper pole plate and the cotton leaf, and the action time of the electric field on seedling features above (plant height, ground diameter, and leaf area) and below ground (fresh weight and dry weight of roots).
