A distinctive subset of uterine mesenchymal tumors display recurrent genetic fusions involving receptor tyrosine kinases, including NTRK, PDGFB, FGFR1, and RET, presumably leading to aberrant pathway activation. A pair of recent studies have highlighted the existence of a genetic fusion-negative uterine sarcoma that is characterized by activating mutations in ERBB2/ERBB3, CDKN2A deletion, inactivating ATRX mutation, and a S100 + /SOX10 + immunohistochemical profile. This report describes another case of this emerging entity that was diagnosed in a 57-year-old woman.

Improvement of tumor-to-blood ratio of radioimmunoconjugates by poly(ethyleneimine)-containing chelating agent.

Objective: Monoclonal antibody (mAb)-based radioimmunoconjugates (RICs) exhibit marked tumor uptake in cancer imaging and therapy, although their high blood retention has limited the development of RICs. In our previous study, a trifunctional chelating agent with a cationic poly(ethyleneimine) (PEI) structure of tetraethylenepentamine (PEI4), maleimide-DOTA-PEI4 (MDI4), improved the tumor-to-blood ratio of RICs by increasing tumor retention compared with a conventional bifunctional chelating agent. In this study, we developed a novel chelating agent composed of a maleimide moiety, DOTA derivative, and two PEI4 structures as a PEI4-2 unit, maleimide-DOTA-PEI4-2 (MDI4-2), a design for a highly cationized chelating agent to synthesize RICs.

Skink, anguid, and pygopod lizards possess an extremely flat skin, imparting a compact and solid body and shining surface that facilitates their slider and/or fossorial movements. The present morphological study, conducted using immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy, has analyzed the microscopical morphology of extremely overlapped scales in different lizards, including species with limb reduction (scincids such as Lerista bougainvilli, Scincella lateralis, Lampropholis delicata) or legless (pygopods such as Lialis burtonis and Delma molleri and the anguid Anguis fragilis). The outer surface of the epidermis shows different micro-structures of the Oberhautchen layer containing corneous beta-proteins (CBPs) with variable immunoreactivity for these proteins.
