Background.: Occupational performance (OP) and interventions during post-traumatic amnesia (PTA) following traumatic brain injury are poorly understood.
Purpose.: This study aims to describe a study protocol to (a) track person factors of OP throughout PTA and (b) assess the feasibility of a randomized controlled trial (RCT) protocol comparing an occupation-based multisensory stimulation and environmental enrichment intervention with usual care during PTA.
Method.: A prospective observational study will be conducted with an embedded Phase II RCT with 30 participants in PTA. Participants will be randomly assigned to group and regularly assessed on PTA and OP measures. Feasibility aspects will be recorded in a logbook. All measures will be repeated at PTA resolution and 1 month later, with a follow-up questionnaire completed at 6 months postinjury.
Findings.: Observational data will be analyzed using correlations. Feasibility will be examined descriptively, and group comparisons will be conducted to determine effect size.
Implications.: Results will provide a broader understanding of OP during PTA and inform future trials.

Background: Management of the extensive soft tissue injuries remains a significant challenge in orthopedic and plastic reconstructive surgery. Since the thumb is responsible for 40% of the functions of the hand, saving and reconstructing a mangled thumb is essential for the patient's future.
Case Presentation: This case report describes the management of a severe occupational thumb injury in a 25-year-old white Persian male who sustained an occupational injury to his left thumb, resulting in extensive burn, crush injury to the distal and proximal phalanx, and severe soft tissue damage to the first metacarpal, thenar, and palmar areas.

The magnetic material Nd2Fe14B is one of the strongest magnetic materials found in nature. The demand for the production of these nanoparticles is significantly high due to their exceptional properties. The aim of the present study is to synthesize magnetic nanoparticles of Nd2Fe14B using ethanol in the wet ball milling technique (WBMT).

Background: Menstrual cycle characteristics are potential indicators of hormonal exposures and may also signal cardiovascular disease risk factors, both of which are relevant to cognitive health. However, there is scarce epidemiological evidence on the association between cycle characteristics and cognitive function.
Objectives: We studied the associations of menstrual cycle characteristics at three stages of a woman's reproductive lifespan with cognitive function in midlife.

While the etiology of schizophrenia (SZ) remains elusive, its diverse phenotypes suggest the involvement of distinct functional cortical areas, and the heritability of SZ implies the underlying genetic factors. This study aimed to integrate imaging and molecular analyses to elucidate the genetic underpinnings of SZ. We investigated the local cortical structural pattern changes in Brodmann areas (BAs) by calculating the cortical structural pattern index (SPI) using magnetic resonance imaging analysis from 194 individuals with SZ and 330 controls.

Background: Jet fuels are a common chemical exposure in occupational settings involving aircraft. Jet fuels are heterogeneous mixtures of aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons, as well as non-hydrocarbon performance additives. Several components of jet fuels have been linked to adverse health outcomes.
