Restrictions to activity and participation in persons with cerebral palsy or spina bifida are often due to both motor and executive dysfunction. Hence methods focusing solely on motor issues are not enough to enhance participation. The Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance Approach is a performance-based approach offering clients opportunities to create their own strategies to learn skills. The aim of the present study was to explore and describe experiences of the Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance Approach as reported by young adults with cerebral palsy or spina bifida. Qualitative content analysis was used. Semi-structured individual interviews were conducted with the 10 participants aged 16-28, post-intervention and at 6-months follow-up. The participants described how the Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance Approach enhanced their self-efficacy. Four categories describing the participants' experiences emerged: "CO-OP is a different way of learning", "CO-OP sometimes puts a strain on me", "CO-OP supports my way of thinking and doing" and "CO-OP boosts me". The young adults expressed that the Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance intervention, although sometimes challenging, was worth the effort because it provided them with an opportunity to master everyday-life problems by using meta-cognitive thinking, which enhanced their self-efficacy.Implications for rehabilitationThe Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance Approach™ - was perceived to provide opportunities to master everyday-life problems by using meta-cognitive thinking. The Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance Approach boosted the persons feeling of self-efficacy.The Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance Approach is person-centred and supports the person's own way of learning.

From the playground to the boardroom, social power profoundly shapes the way people think and behave. Social psychological research has offered a nuanced understanding of the diverse psychological and behavioural tendencies of powerholders. We add to this literature by proposing that powerholders also differ in how they construe the origin of their power.

Our aim was to elucidate mechanisms underlying nitrogen (N)-deficiency tolerance in bread wheat (cultivar Ruta), conferred by a wild emmer wheat QTL (WEW; IL99). We hypothesised that the tolerance in IL99 is driven by enhanced N-uptake through modification of root system architecture (RSA) underscored by transcriptome modifications. Severe N-deficiency (0.

Self-assembly plays a critical role in nanoparticle-based applications. However, it remains challenging to monitor the self-assembly of multi-component nanomaterials at a single-particle level, in real-time, with high throughput, and in a model-independent manner. Here, multi-color fluorescence microscopy is applied to track the assembly of both liposomes and mRNA simultaneously in clinical mRNA-based cancer immunotherapy.

Bioinspired Disordered Aerogel for Omnidirectional Terahertz Response.

The structural disorder of the black butterfly assists in capturing sunlight across a wider spectral and angular range, injecting infinite vitality for omnidirectional and stimuli-responsive wave-absorbing materials. Here, the disordered micro-pores responding to terahertz (THz) waves through electromagnetic simulations, and then prepared via ice templating technology are analyzed and optimized. The customized disordered aerogel makes possible perfect terahertz response property with incidence-angle-insensitive and ultra-broadband.

Every year, billions of birds migrate to optimize their foraging, shelter and breeding. They use an inclination compass, which, unlike the technical compass, distinguishes between the directions towards the magnetic equator from the magnetic pole based on magnetic inclination angles, which range from ±90 deg at the poles to 0 deg at the equator. During autumn migration, some species cross the magnetic equator, where field lines are horizontal, i.
