For future micro- and nanotechnologies, the manufacturing of miniaturized, functionalized, and integrated devices is indispensable. In this paper, an assembly technique based on a bottom-up strategy that enables the manufacturing of complex microsystems using only optical methods is presented. A screw connection is transferred to the micrometer range and used to assemble screw- and nut-shaped microcomponents. Micro-stereolithography is performed by means of two-photon polymerization, and microstructures are fabricated and subsequently trapped, moved, and screwed together using optical forces in a holographic optical tweezer set-up. The design and construction of interlocking microcomponents and the verification of a stable and releasable joint form the main focus of this paper. The assembly technique is also applied to a microfluidic system to enable the pumping or intermixing of fluids on a microfluidic chip. This strategy not only enables the assembly of microcomponents but also the combination of different materials and features to form complex hybrid microsystems.

Pancreatic cancer (PC) is a highly lethal malignancy with rapid progression and poor prognosis. Despite the widespread use of gemcitabine (Gem)-based chemotherapy as the first-line treatment for PC, its efficacy is often compromised by significant drug resistance. 1,2,3,4,6-Pentagaloyl glucose (PGG), a natural polyphenol, has demonstrated potential in sensitizing PC cells to Gem.

Chemodynamic therapy (CDT) is an emerging antitumor strategy utilizing iron-initiated Fenton reaction to destroy tumor cells by converting endogenous HO into highly toxic hydroxyl radical (OH). However, the intratumoral overexpressed glutathione (GSH) and deficient acid greatly reduce CDT efficacy because of OH scavenging and decreased OH production efficiency. Even worse, the various physiological barriers, especially in glioma, further put the brakes on the targeted delivery of Fenton agents.

Addressing the challenges of the efficiency and stability of red perovskite nanocrystals is imperative for the successful deployment of these materials in displays and lighting applications. the structural dynamic changes of red perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) are explored using a flow chemistry system to solve the above hurdles. First, the ultrabright red-emitting PQDs of CsPb(Br,I) are achieved by adjusting ligand distribution (oleic acid and oleyamine) in combination with different flow rates and equivalence ratios.

This study explored a facile method for converting macadamia nutshells into bio-based nanomaterials, including cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) and lignin nanoparticles (LNPs), through deep eutectic solvent (DES) pretreatment coupled with a nanofabrication strategy. Comparisons of the physicochemical, morphological, and structural properties of the CNF and LNPs produced through acidic choline chloride/oxalic acid dihydrate (ACDES) and alkaline KCO/glycerol DES (ALDES) pretreatments were conducted using SEM, TEM, FTIR, XRD, TGA, GPC and 2D NMR. The CNFs obtained from ACDES pretreatment (ACCNFs) exhibited uniform and long filament-like structures with shorter whisker-like nanocrystals.

This study investigates the evolution and genetic diversity of SARS-CoV-2 strains circulating in Morocco to track the spread, clade distributions and mutations of the virus across various regions from February 2020 to June 2024. The genome sequences were retrieved from the GISAID database. A total of 2630 SARS-CoV-2 genome sequences were analyzed using bioinformatic tools such as Nextclade, followed by phylogenetic and statistical analyses.
