Published: June 2021

We examine the association between premature natural menopause and cognitive function among older women in Indonesia. Data come from Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) 2014 (N = 1,031 menopausal women). Multilevel ordered logistic regression was used to take into account unobserved factors in the women's communities, also considering a range of potential confounding factors including their reproductive histories, lifestyles, and sociodemographic characteristics. The findings show that premature natural menopause was significantly associated with lower cognitive function in later life ( = -0.97, < .01, CI -1.61-(-0.33)). The findings were robust against potential confounding factors including reproductive history, lifestyle, and sociodemographic characteristics.

Background: In Egypt, approximately 10% of preterm deliveries occur between 32 and fewer than 37 weeks, leading to high neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) admissions. Preterm infants often face oral feeding difficulties due to immature development, which can lead to extended hospital stays and increased health risks.

Aim: To assess neonatal nurses' performance in terms of the transition to oral feeding in preterm infants, focusing on knowledge, practices, and attitudes.

As one of the essential lignan derivative found in traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, secoisolariciresinol diglucoside (SDG) was proved to promote women's health through its phytoestrogenic properties. Increasingly studies indicated that this compound could be a potential drug capable of preventing estrogen-related diseases. Here, we aimed to investigate whether SDG can counteract cyclophosphamide (CTX) induced premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) and further explore its specific molecular mechanism.

The 5,000 to 8,000 monogenic diseases are inherited disorders leading to mutations in a single gene. These diseases usually appear in childhood and sometimes lead to morbidity or premature death. Although treatments for such diseases exist, gene therapy is considered an effective and targeted method and has been used in clinics for monogenic diseases since 1989.
