Background: Duane's retraction Syndrome is a congenital form of strabismus characterized by horizontal eye movement limitation and globe retraction with palpebral fissure narrowing in attempted adduction. It may be associated with co-existing ocular and systemic pathologies. Crocodile tears, or a paradoxical gustatory lacrimal reflex can be either congenital or acquired. The congenital cases typically are associated with Duane's syndrome in most of the cases.
Case: We present in our case report, uncommon case of bilateral Duane's syndrome with bilateral crocodile tears - both of which can be assumed to be of probably central origin. Though several cases have been reported, there are very few from the Indian subcontinent. Here, we also review the literature of the syndrome with crocodile tears.
Conclusion: All cases of Duane's retraction syndrome warrant a thorough screening for coexisting ocular and systemic abnormalities. Ours is a classic report of bilateral Duane's syndrome with bilateral congenital crocodile tears, the coexistence of these two anomalies emphasising the aetiology to be anomalous innervation occurring at central level i.e. is brain stem.

Background: Primary acquired nasolacrimal duct obstruction (PANDO) is a condition in which tear ducts are blocked, leading to epiphora and dacryocystitis. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to measure the ability of transcanalicular dacryocystorhinostomy (TC-DCR) as an alternative approach to PANDO compared to traditional external dacryocystorhinostomy (EX-DCR).

Background: Overexpression of tear matrix metalloproteinases-9 (MMP-9) on the ocular surface tissues has been reported to result in ocular surface damage. MMP-9 levels in tears have been listed as one of many tools for confirming dry eye disease (DED).
Objective: This investigation aimed to compare MMP-9 levels and ocular surface parameters in diabetic patients with and without DED.

Tertiary lymphoid structures play important roles in autoimmune and non-autoimmune conditions. While many of the molecular mechanisms involved in tertiary lymphoid structure formation have been identified, the cellular sources and temporal and spatial relationship remain unknown. Here we use combine single-cell RNA-sequencing, spatial transcriptomics and proteomics of minor salivary glands of patients with Sjogren's disease and Sicca Syndrome, with ex-vivo functional studies to construct a cellular and spatial map of key components involved in the formation and function of tertiary lymphoid structures.
