This paper presents a "structured" learning approach for the identification of continuous partial differential equation (PDE) models with both constant and spatial-varying coefficients. The identification problem of parametric PDEs can be formulated as an ℓ/ℓ-mixed optimization problem by explicitly using block structures. Block-sparsity is used to ensure parsimonious representations of parametric spatiotemporal dynamics. An iterative reweighted ℓ/ℓ algorithm is proposed to solve the ℓ/ℓ-mixed optimization problem. In particular, the estimated values of varying coefficients are further used as data to identify functional forms of the coefficients. In addition, a new type of structured random dictionary matrix is constructed for the identification of constant-coefficient PDEs by introducing randomness into a bounded system of Legendre orthogonal polynomials. By exploring the restricted isometry properties of the structured random dictionary matrices, we derive a recovery condition that relates the number of samples to the sparsity and the probability of failure in the Lasso scheme. Numerical examples, such as the Schrödinger equation, the Fisher-Kolmogorov-Petrovsky-Piskunov equation, the Burger equation, and the Fisher equation, suggest that the proposed algorithm is fairly effective, especially when using a limited amount of measurements.

A 2-year-old female Assam Hill goat was presented with a clinical history of anorexia, fever, mild anemia, rough body coat, dehydration, tachycardia, dyspnea and swelling of palpable lymph nodes. Hematology revealed low hemoglobin, packed cell volume, red blood cell and thrombocyte count. Biochemical analysis showed increased serum concentration of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), creatinine and urea in comparison to the normal reference range.

Purpose: This study aims to assess the diagnostic efficacy of conventional ultrasound (CUS) and contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in detecting fat-poor angiomyolipomas(AML) with dimensions less than 5 cm. Additionally, the study seeks to identify independent indicators for predicting the presence of fat-poor AML.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of patients diagnosed with renal AML and renal cell carcinoma, who were admitted and underwent surgery at Fujian Provincial Hospital from January 2013 to October 2023.

There are several differential diagnoses for knee monoarthritis. We report a patient with recurrent episodes of knee effusion, in which the non-specific clinical condition implied several diagnostic hypotheses, therapeutic inaccuracies, and a delay in implementing adequate treatment. For more than 2 years, the patient underwent different Orthopedics and Rheumatology visits.

Background: Trichofolliculoma (TF) is a rare condition, and its imaging features have been inadequately studied, leading to frequent misdiagnoses in clinical practice.
Objective: The aim of our study was to investigate the very high frequency (VHF) ultrasound characteristics of TF, identify features that could assist in the differential diagnosis of TF versus other benign and malignant lesions.
Methods: We collected clinical data from 24 patients with histologically confirmed TF between February 2019 and June 2024.

Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) is a myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasm characterized by peripheral blood monocytosis and bone marrow dysplasia. In approximately one-fourth of cases, CMML can demonstrate progression to acute myeloid leukemia (AML), referred to as AML ex CMML. We present a 58-year-old woman with a past medical history of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) who demonstrated 24% bone marrow blasts on a repeat biopsy obtained two years after being diagnosed with CMML.
