The redescription of has brought to focus Scanning Electron microscopic evidence of evolutionary consequence. The intestinal caeca, ventriculus and ventricular appendix of family Anisakidae; ventriculus and ventricular appendix of family Raphidascaridae; and along with it, post-cloacal collarette of family Physalopteridae in worms recovered from coral-reef associated fish hosts at '' island, evidently confirmed that the characters of as many as three families were encountered in . The selective adaptation of these specific characters exhibited significant evolutionary trend, and indeed these could radiate connecting link features of Raphidascarididae.

A paradigmatic account may suffice to explain behavioral evolution in early Homo. We propose a parsimonious account that (1) could explain a particular, frequently-encountered, archeological outcome of behavior in early Homo - namely, the fashioning of a Paleolithic stone 'handaxe' - from a biological theoretic perspective informed by the free energy principle (FEP); and that (2) regards instances of the outcome as postdictive or retrodictive, circumstantial corroboration. Our proposal considers humankind evolving as a self-organizing biological ecosystem at a geological time-scale.

Captive breeding is often seen as a solution to sustainably increasing the supply of individuals in the wildlife trade. To be an effective conservation measure this requires robust systems to verify the authenticity of captive-bred species. The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) monitors the international trade in Listed species-which for many taxa is dominated by captive-bred individuals-using the Review of Captive Trade (RCT) process.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains one of the most common malignancies globally, of which the initiative factors are multiple and complex. More recently, the major roles played by gut microbiota in the carcinogenesis of CRC have been uncovered, which indicates that dysbiosis caused by specific bacterial or fungal species may contribute to the malignant progression of CRC. Meanwhile, appendix, classically identified as an evolutionary relict with negligible physiological functions, has been found to play crucial roles in the immune modulation process and microbiome composition of gut by its lymphoid tissue features.
