Accurate estimation of the level of benzoyl peroxide (BPO) is of considerable significance because of its threat to humanity and environment. Several research efforts have been devoted to the detection of BPO by fluorescent method with high sensitivity and selectivity. However, it remains challenging to eliminate the interference of HO due to its similar properties to BPO. In this work, the first demonstration of fluorescent and colorimetric probe for specific detection of BPO without the disturbance of HO was achieved by curcumin-based ionic liquid (CIL) that possesses simple fabrication, good biocompatibility, and low cost. The fluorescence quenches and emission peak blue-shifts once the probe selectively interacts with BPO, whereas the other possible interfering agents, including HO, do not have this phenomenon. The probe CIL exhibits prominent sensitivity for BPO sensing and enables the detection limit at levels as ultralow as 10 nM. The local detection of BPO in practical samples is realized by visualization using a portable device derived from CIL-based liquid atomizer.

Influenza circulates at high levels in Europe since November 2024. Using a test-negative study based on data from French community laboratories between October 2024 and February 2025, we estimated vaccine effectiveness (VE) against PCR-detected influenza infection (44,420/15,052; positive/negative individuals). For all age groups, the overall VE was 42% (95% CI: 37-46%), with 26% (95% CI: 18-34%) against influenza A and 75% (95% CI: 66-82%) against influenza B.

Organic peroxides in foodstuffs like lipid hydroperoxides and benzoyl peroxide (BPO) have risks to human health, which need rapid and on-site determination. This study prepared hydrophobic and reductive fluorescent iodine-doping carbon dots (I-CDs) via a solvothermal strategy using oleylammonium iodide as the precursor. The I-CDs can be used as nanoprobes to rapidly and sensitively determine organic peroxides.

A new class of ionic polymers tethering triazine (benzene) core hybrids with three dipyridinium as cationic counterparts combined with bromide and/or chloride anions PPyBz-O and PPyTri-O were successfully prepared the alkylation of 4,4'-dipyridyl derivatives 4,4'-bp-O with 1,3,5-tris(bromomethyl)benzene BB and/or cyanuric chloride CC. The precursor, 4,4'-bp-O,was synthesized through the condensation of 4-pyridine carboxaldehyde and 4,4'-oxydianiline. The resulting ionic polymers, PPyBz-O and PPyTri-O, underwent metathetical anion exchange, forming new ionic polymers bearing LiTFSI and KPF as anions.

Background: HER2 expression has been confirmed to be associated with bladder cancer aggressiveness. Anti-HER2 RC48-ADC is approved in China for the treatment of patients with advanced urothelial carcinoma with failed chemotherapy who are HER2 positive (IHC 2 + or 3 +). The discovery of HER2 positivity in urothelial carcinoma and the development of anti-HER2 drugs have brought new hope for bladder preservation treatment in MIBC.
